Psalm 84: 11-12

For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

O LORD of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father,

It is with contrite and humble hearts that we come before You, aware of the depth of Your grace and mercy and knowing that we fall short of the marks You have set before us. Yet You knew that we would fail and You designed a plan -- You sent Your beloved Son to show us how You would have us live and then to die for our sins that we might have eternal life and fellowship with You. Lord, we praise Your Name and we re-affirm our dedication to You and our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Show us, Lord, how You would have us serve You; give us boldness in speaking up for Your righteousness; and accept our praise and adoration!

Father, You raised up a leader for our times who is one of Yours and who heeds Your voice. And yet George W. Bush is reviled as an evil man by those who know You not. There are some whose deceitful arrows must wound his heart for we have seen his compassion and the depth of his caring for others. Lord, comfort him and give him strength and determination to carry on the tasks that You have set before him. Let these lies and accusations fall weakly to the ground, not reaching their mark. Bless our President with wisdom and discernment. We thank You for our First Lady, a woman of grace and inner beauty. We are grateful for the role model that this couple presents to our young people and we ask that You let their marriage grow ever stronger, providing them both with a safe shelter from the storms that swirl around them.

Lord, we hear stories of our troops committing great acts of courage and heroism; news filters out of the great good that they are accomplishing in spite of the lack of such coverage by our news media. We fail to understand how some in our nation can work to destroy the morale of our military who are making such sacrifices to protect us and to bring the blessings of liberty to people in other lands. Father, we ask You to be a shield to our troops, not only from the bombs and bullets of the vicious enemies they face abroad but also from the fiery darts of the forces of darkness here in our own country. We thank You for these men and women who are giving up so much to serve our nation and we seek Your blessings on their families. Give them strength and courage for the days ahead.

Lord, we pray for our nation, this sweet land of liberty that too many take for granted. Let us not grow weary of the fight against those who seek to remove Your Name from public discourse, who promote the murder of the unborn, who champion that which is base and abominable. Bind the hands of satan, O Lord! Revive our nation that our people might know the joy of relationship with You, our Eternal and Almighty Lord. We ask these things in the Name of our precious Savior, Jesus. Amen.

For our President and our troops to know in their hearts

The light of God surrounds us
The love of God enfolds us
The power of God protects us
The presence of God watches over us

Where ever we are, God is, and all is well

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!!

"If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or
the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled
the fire shall surely make restitution."
- Exodus 22:6

But what restitution can he make who casts abroad the fire-brands of
error, or the coals of lasciviousness, and sets men's souls on a blaze
with the fire of hell? The guilt is beyond estimate, and the result is
irretrievable.
If such an offender be forgiven, what grief it will cause him in the
retrospect, since he cannot undo the mischief which he has done! An ill
example may kindle a flame which years of amended character cannot quench.
To burn the food of man is bad enough, but how much worse to destroy the
soul! It may be useful to us to reflect how far we may have been guilty in
the past, and to enquire whether, even in the present, there may not be
evil in us which has a tendency to bring damage to the souls of our
relatives, friends, or neighbours.

The fire of strife is a terrible evil when it breaks out in a Christian
church. Where converts were multiplied, and God was glorified, jealousy
and envy do the devil's work most effectually. Where the golden grain was
being housed, to reward the toil of the great Boaz, the fire of enmity
comes in and leaves little else but smoke and a heap of blackness. Woe
unto those by whom offences come. May they never come through us, for
although we cannot make restitution, we shall certainly be the chief
sufferers if we are the chief offenders. Those who feed the fire deserve
just censure, but he who first kindles it is most to blame.
Discord usually takes first hold upon the thorns; it is nurtured among
the hypocrites and base professors in the church, and away it goes among
the righteous, blown by the winds of hell, and no one knows where it may
end.
O thou Lord and giver of peace, make us peacemakers, and never let us aid
and abet the men of strife, or even unintentionally cause the least
division among thy people.

C.H.SPURGEON

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

"Where ever we are, God is, and all is well."

Worth repeating. What comfort we have in believing. God bless those who don't.

"May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever Amen."

We pray humbly for the citizens of our country and ask You, dear Jesus, forgive our transgressions. Darkness has certainly overcome some regions, with prayers removed from our schools, etc. we are floundering trying to find our way but unable to do so...You, dear Jesus, are the answer, if only the multitude acknowledge Your presence all will be saved. We pray many come to their senses, and for those truly lost, have mercy on them..........We continue our prayers for the service people and their families. Grant them Peace in these tumultuous times..In Jesus' name we pray
