It's been four years of bad news for flight attendants.
First, 9/11 happened. Then, they were laid off. With airline bankruptcies like Northwest's, they are being laid off again.
Now, in another blow, the movie, "Flight Plan," is hitting theaters, tomorrow. Starring Jodie Foster, it's an outrageous piece of propaganda and incredible display of the irresponsible.
I'm embarrassed to say that a very distant cousin of mine--Charles J.D. Schlissel--is executive producer of this outrage. The J.D. must stand for "Just Despicable." If you're a freedom-loving American like me, the rotten tricks of this movie will disgust you.
If you want to sicken yourself and see "Flight Plan," stop reading here. But if you want to save ten bucks, keep going.
SPOILER ALERT
Throughout "Flight Plan," we are given hints--very strong hints--that four Muslim Arabs are the terrorists on the plane. But in the end--breaking a cardinal rule of thrillers--the hints have no pay-off.
Instead, the terrorists are the flight's air marshal and a flight attendant.
That is an outrage for a number of reasons. Two of those reasons are Betty Ong and Madeleine Amy Sweeney. Both were among the many flight attendants who gave their lives on 9/11.
They weren't terrorists. They were American heroes. Instead of calling their families to say good-bye, they contacted ground crews and identified the hijackers. It was because of them that authorities were able to identify Mohammad Atta and his 18 thugs as Al Qaeda.
Other flight attendants were brutally murdered by the hijackers, who slit their throats.
And now Jodie Foster and Charles J. D. Schlissel have the chutzpah to portray these low-paid workers as terrorists?!

Was there an editing error in this article though? It essentially has the same paragraph twice, stating that the flight attendant and the air marshall have committed the same crimes.
Stay home and read books.
A little confusing but apparently the Air Marshall in the movie did the same crimes working in conjunction with the flight attendant.
The only surprise is that they apparently didn't include a LESBIAN oral sex scene between the homosexual Foster and a female flight attendant. What kind of a movie would you expect from a sickening, socially-twisted dweeb like homosexual Jodie Foster? Boycott? They ought to burn it!
Sounds like a cool movie to me. Saw a short sneak preview. Not every terrorist has to be an Arab and I don't see this as a smear against flight attendants or air marshals.
It's one of the few movies out I actually am interested in seeing. I don't want to live my life ruled by a political agenda.

They idea that, "Well, we may drive in limousines and have big houses in the hills, but we are really people of the street. We are in solidarity with the proletariat. We are ordinary folks". What's ironic is that Hollywood has gone in an Ivy League direction. Stars like JODIE FOSTER, Angela Bassett, Sigourney Weaver, Meryl Streep, Oliver Stone, -- all of those of those people are Yalies for example. The more that Hollywood has become a province for people who were born with privelege rather than the sort of shop girls and truck drivers who once busted their way into the business, the more it has tried to pretend, absurdly, that it is not an elite and corporate industry. The more guilty they feel about their status, the more desire they have to assuage that guilt with leftist pieties."
