"It is highly likely that terrorists are males, who cover their face with objects like a mask, with excessively bulging belly, and are between 20 and 40 years of age."
Seoul Police Agency made public the information on 'Characteristics of Terrorists and How to Spot them,' when they started on Nov. 6 to go into emergency alert mode for (coming) APEC Summit.
According to the announcement, terrorists usually cover their face with masks or beards, wear hats or sunglasses.
In particular, the chances are high that suicide bombers wear bomb belts concealed inside their clothes, and people have to look out for those with excessively bulging waist or belly.
In addition, we have to keep an eye on young males and females, who are apparently not in a same company but attempting to coordinate their activities or wear matching clothes, and furthermore, those wearing clothes too thick for the season, sweating profusely, and appearing to be in great stress.
Subway terrorists tend to have characteristics to avert gaze away from ticket agents when buying a ticket or passing through a toll gate, loiter around rails, taking pictures, and measuring things with measuring tape.
Those who drop a knapsack or a bag into a trash can or at a restroom as if they did it by mistake, and hurriedly disappear, and those who show suspicious behaviors such as intentionally avoiding cops and suddenly running away, should also be watched.
Insisting on to pay in cash instead of credit card and check, looking upset or turning testy when asked about their nationality or lodging are also characteristics of terrorists.
The police source appeals, "Countering terrorism requires the cooperation of vigilant citizens. Please help us with countering and preventing terrorism: anybody or anything suspicious should be reported."
