Iran Lifts Trade Restrictions

Iran Lifts Trade Embargo

Iran has just lifted the punishment sanctions imposed on import and export of goods to and from Great Britain, South Korea, Argentina and Czechoslovakia after the Mullahs discovered the embargo did not work and badly needed goods were in short supply.

Meanwhile, Iran has started 138 Camel-bird farms with some 13,000 birds and sells their meat for about $5 a pound to the population. Which is cheaper than in many other countries.

Before I get flamed for apparent nonsense, the Persian name for an Ostrich translates literally as Camel-bird and these have been introduced to supplement meat production. In case you were not aware, citizens of the Islamic Republic still have to use ration coupons to obtain certain items.

Not content with this latest agricultural progress, President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad now wants to remove the word "Republic" from the name for Iran and though secular himself (SINO) and call the country Islamic Iran to emphasize his fervent belief that Allah has appointed him to cover the globe with Islamic justice and teachings.

As far as I know there is no edict on Ostriches which are not normally found in the region. The "kosherization" (halal) comes with the form of slaughter which has to be slitting the bird or animal's throat and letting the blood flow. Which then allows it to be eaten.

The Taliban and insurgents in Iraq seem to apply "halal" procedure equally to humans.

My grandmother used to go to a farmer's market, get a goose, kill it, eat it and save the feathers for pillows. The good part is she brought the live goose home under her arm--on a bus.
