Hillary ignores far left -- will they vote for her anyway?

In a speech before a Princeton audience of about 800 on January 18th , Hillary Rodham Clinton, Senator from New York, had a few words of scorn for the Bush administration's handling of the Iran nuke situation.

So, on one hand, we "lost critical time in dealing with Iran" because Bush tried to allow the diplomatic process undertaken by the Europeans and Iran to attempt to work itself out (wasn't it the left who claimed Bush went to war without using diplomacy in 2001?). She says we cannot "outsource" our negotiations to others (nice usage of a meaningless buzz word there). Yet, on the other hand, she insists in the self-same paragraph that we must have "more support ... by China and Russia" and that we "must move as quickly as feasible for sanctions in the United Nations" (seems like "outsourcing" to me!).

Hillary feels she has the room in her campaign to sound like a tough, military supporting, hawk, ignoring the anti-military left completely. Now, ordinarily, one would assume that a presumptive Democratic Party candidate for president would have to lock up the base before going on the stump and pretending they support the military. And the Democrat's base is the anti-military, far left.

But, Hillary's tactic is more interesting. She isn't making the slightest attempt to ally the fears of the far left. She is forging ahead and aiming solely for the middle of the road voter. With her hawkish stance she is trying to gain the support of both the conservative Democrats and those only loosely aligned with the GOP.

So, what about the leftist, Democratic base, those Democrats that hate the military, or at least hate the use of it? How can she go forward without their support?

Well, what do you think? Is Hillary ignoring the far left and will it have no impact on her campaign for president? Will ignoring the far left come back to bite her in the rear end and scuttle her plans for a run for the presidency?

Hillary has an ACU rating of 0 out of 100.

I am so sick of the lies from the media.

Hillary is a liberal extremist that votes with boxer 99 percent of the time.

Hillary voted against john roberts, she is a radical leftist.

Hillary has an awful record on the second amendment.

Hillary voted against partial birth abortion.

When it comes to the sharpton friend shrillary watch how she votes not what she says. I am so sick of the media lying in her triangulation game.

Hillary is a left wing basket case. The far left loves her because she has a 0 out of 100 acu rating.

Will they vote for her anyway?

Of course. They know she's one of them. So does everybody else (despite the propaganda).

Hillary is the Left with it's most deceptive face. She is playing right-wing hawk on Iran just to fool the ignorant masses. Once installed her regime would turn hard-left. So yeah, I think they'll vote for her, as will long-standing traditional voters of America's big-city cemeteries.

Some will, some won't. And they'll probably cost her the election.

They will vote for her anyway (well, a strong majority will at least).

But these are the same liberals who would vote for anything not republican including a chair, a desk, or a mousepad.

In other words, Hillary can't bring any, nada votes that any other democrat wouldn't get anyway.

Which brings up the point.

Why does anyone even think she is a viable candidate for prez?

What votes can she get that any other generic democratic nominee can't get?

She is working on the middle ground because her support with the hard core left is pretty much sewn up.

They know she's one of them.

No, they really don't.

Doesn't matter, they'll still vote for her.

But on the other left wing websites, it looks like a freeper board with everybody cursing her.

The DUmmies and Daily Kos really rip on her....they'll still vote for her, but then again, they'll vote anyone who is the party nominee.

will they vote for her anyway?

As long as she has a "D" after her name, they will. Some of them may claim that they never will, but once it gets down to the wire on election day, they will vote for her.

Right nao I do not believe tht Hillary will make it past the Democrat primaries.A lot has changed on the natioall political landscape since she was co President and very little of it has been to her advantager. The Kennedy faction appears to have wrested control away from the Clintons. Al Gore is back on the scene. John Kerry will probably return.Howard Dean does not appear to be a fan of the Clintons.

While a lot can change between now and '08, at this point in time, Hillaryls star seems to be fading.

I agree that the times are changing and I don't think that Hillary will win the Democratic nomination. A lot of Democrats blame Bill Clinton for the Democrats losing Congress in 1994 and the Presidency in 2000. I think that the whole Hillary for President thing is a media creation.

Since she would be the most obnoxious candidate in the race, of course the far left will vote for her!

Sean Hannity interviewed a woman, on the radio recently, who didn't know much but did know that "Bush" is the President of the U.S. When Sean asked her whom "Bush" ran against in the presidential election, she replied, after some throught: "Steve". She couldn't remember "Steve's" last name, but she voted for him because he wasn't "Bush" and because she is a Democrat.

Those are the people the Democrats appeal to.

If Hillary runs against "Steve", then I'm voting for him, too.
