ZIMBABWE'S military wants to forge a new "strategic partnership" with China, an increasingly important ally as Robert Mugabe's government fights international isolation, an official newspaper said yesterday.
Mr Mugabe, 82, is seeking friends in Asia under an economic and diplomatic drive called the "Look East Policy", developed after the West accused his government of human rights abuses.
Analysts say Zimbabwe plays an important role in China's strategic plans to increase access to African oil and other raw materials.
The state-run Herald newspaper said Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) commander General Constantine Chiwenga told a group of Chinese military visitors Zimbabwe's army had benefited greatly from Chinese aid. "The ZDF have pledged to further establish and develop a new type of strategic partnership with China, featuring political equality and mutual trust, economic win-win co-operation and cultural and technological exchange."

Ping!
Don't ping the China boosters. We have quite a few registered over the last month. I believe the Chinese National Security Bureau and Chinese embassies everywhere are sending out agents of influence on the net to distribute Chinese Communist propaganda.
Well the Reds should learn a lesson - supporting Mugabe is not a good idea in terms of propaganda. Killing Mugabe would be a better move.

Pganini?
The Communists will fall in China.
But at the mean time there are heaps of Communists registered here recently, and I do know that they are now sending intelligence agents on sites like this to move opinions in their directions. Have a look at posters flg, pganini, or bunglemanster - all sound like Communist agents to me.
Beware when they land on threads like this.
It is not only him. I have also seen gogoman, flg, okie73104, and bunglemanster who are about as pro-Communist as I have seen anywhere.
Methinks they are all the same person with multiple i.d's.
I have no doubt gogoman and okie are the same person because of the similarities in tone. flg is more hardcore Communist and very naked anti-American, while pganini and bunglemanster lie somewhere in between.
I think it will only be a matter of time before flg is given the boot or he will move on to greener pastures because his goal is in direct conflict with the aim of this site - to advance American conservatism - and Chinese Communist interests of course do not coincide with this.
Zim's biggest problem in trying to sell out to the ChiComs is that the country is landlocked. There are a number of African countries to which the Chinese could buy access which have much better strategic value.
They manage to survive by interleaving the pro-Commie support calls with lots of niceties, and "the weather's amazing in Seattle"-type comments.
They have been able to blend in rather well. Atleast for now.
Let the Chi-comms try to fill it up.
They seem to have worn themselves out trying to swing everybody pro-Russia (I still don't trust the Russkies farther than I can throw them).
Those guys were here everyday posting some pro-Russian article from sources nobody had ever heard of.
Haven't seen them in awhile, but I'm definately not complaining.
Let the Chinese wallow in this sinkhole for a while.
I don't want Mugabe propped up. I want him dead.

"Analysts say Zimbabwe plays an important role in China's strategic plans to increase access to African oil and other raw materials. "
None of which Zzimbabwe has. Sure there are some played out mines but oil? No way.
China is a sucker for old Marxist!
But then what? Going to be a hell of a deluge.
No communist government is going to pay people to write on forums like this, like they give a damn? They will control access to such sites, which is plain simple to do. You are paranoid in this regard and your political standing is naive and full of self conflicts. Like Jiang told HK reporters:"Too simple, sometimes naive". I'll call you "san xing jia nu"
Afraid of a fair and balanced debate ? Afraid your arguments don't hold water ? Afraid your one sided views will get challenged ?
If it were me and I had any confidence in my views, I would say "bring it on"
I think a lot of the "deport the illegals" group say silly things. I have no qualms about challenging their silly arguements en masse.
