Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said yesterday he intends to appoint former Republican Congressman James Rogan to a judgeship in the Orange Superior Court on Oct. 1.
Representing Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena and neighboring areas in Congress from 1996 to 2000, Rogan was one of the House managers in the impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton, but lost a heavily contested race in 2000 to Schiff.
Schwarzenegger also named San Diego attorney Carolyn M. Caietti and Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura H. Parsky to judgeships in the San Diego Superior Court, tapped Santa Barbara County Senior Deputy District Attorney Edward Bullard for a judgeship in the Santa Barbara Superior Court, and said he intends to name Assistant U.S. Attorney Lewis Davis to the Contra Costa Superior Court.
Caietti, Bullard and Davis are Republicans. Parsky is unaffiliated.

Judging Arnold; bench appointments well timed
"Jon Fleischman, whose FlashReport is required reading for California conservatives, calls Rogan a GOP superstar and suggested that his appointment to the Orange County bench will go a long way toward appeasing Republicans who think Schwarzenegger has named way too many Democratic judges.
As for Parsky, her father is a GOP kingmaker in California with long-standing ties to President Bush. He's currently a member of the UC Board of Regents and for years was a major power in the state Republican party."
This is kind of a step down for Rogan; I think he was once considered for the Ninth Circuit.
Rogan is a good man based on his performance in the Clinton impeachment and I give a thumbs up to Arnold for appointing him.
Kudos to Arnold for naming Jim Rogan, a fine conservative, to the bench. However, naming Gerry Parsky's daughter to the bench stinks of patronage, not to mention the fact that she is probably as liberal as the day is long (her father, who actually claims to be a Republican, is the biggest RINO in the state, and she must be well to his left if she won't even admit to being a Republican).
This article has more info about the other appointments, even though the title is similar.
This is awesome news. This man has an incredible story if you have a chance to look into it.
The Fear Factor guy? Cool!
Rogan needs to be on the state Supreme Court or federal bench, not a dinky county judgeship. The man is a star.

Isn't he the host of 'FEAR FACTOR'????
He's still young. Give it time.
It was nice to see a truly worthy appointment--at last!
(The simultaneous Parsky appointment took some joy out of the moment, though.)
Well, I mean he turns 50 next year, so he ain't a kid. I just hope he gets the "big appointment" soon before he's too old to justify a lifetime tenure.
Do you know her? Do you have any basis for this conclusion or did you just make it up?
Considering who her Father is, surely you can't expect that Parsky would lean to the Dems. She may not have declared herself, to be above politics, as a judge.
ROFL! Now that's funny!
