Does McKinney still matter? Can she still cause any more damage? She still has about 4 months left in her tenure in the house. Can she still vote on anything that matters? I know she's missed a lot of votes, so perhaps she can be kept entertained away from Washington for the next 4 months.

I hope we see as much of her as possible between now and the election.

Frankly I was hoping she would win, and become even more assertive, I want to put a wooden stake in the heart of her party.

At least Lamont won.

Well, if the above account of the hours leading up to her defeat and...er...concession speech are accurate, I'd say Cynthia is either on drugs, an out-of-control drunk, or both. Although the author danced around this fact, he also makes it clear she's surrounded by Nation of Islam thugs, hence the fear, threats and hate in the room.

The author is playing it way too coy. He says, "In last week's column, I recalled the bright and personable Cynthia McKinney I knew back in 1990. And it's not my place to summarily judge her in 2006." That's where he goes wrong. He's trying to hint at what he doesn't have the courage to say openly.

He probably knows, as do most of the voters in that district and many people on Capitol Hill, that Cynthia is on something and has been for years. Never seemingly playing with the fullest of decks even on her best day, "sweet and personable" Cynthia morphed over a period of 16 years into someone whose brain is really shot. She's been looking bizarre, acting bizarre and not doing her job. If she doesn't have a brain tumor, then there's only one other explanation for the crash-dive in her behavior.
