I leave it to the deductive powers of the readers as to which specific actions we need to remember and how those actions helped end the war.
Short answer. We didn't fight a proportional war, We went in with overwhelming force and an intent to kill as many of the enemy as possible until they surrendered according to whatever conditions we set.

major issue is our own governments have their eye on the globalist ball and will NOT alienate any major group (i.e. muslims).
My thought on this range from pressure to avoid any trade problems resulting from overt anti-muslim-targetted efforts to pressure to think in terms of eventually world political integration, which would be set back by us declaring open war on the 25% of the world where this is coming from, particularly given that many possible recruits are citizens of the west.
