Defiant Reid clashes with Islamist radicals (not Nevada's Reid, Britain's)
The Guaardian ^ | Sept. 21 | Alan Travis

Posted on 09/21/2006 10:50:31 PM PDT by Bushwacker777

"A second protester held signs saying "John Reid Go to Hell" and "Home Office = Terrorist Office" before Anjem Choudary interrupted a question and answer session to tell the home secretary that Muslims did not need British values. "We believe Islam is superior, we believe Islam will be implemented one day. It is very rich for you to come here and say we need to monitor our children when your government is murdering people in Iraq and Afghanistan." He too was ushered out."

Again, this occured in Britain -- I doubt the so-called US senator from Nevada could even find Britain on a world map.

Brits will soon realize the Islamic masses they've shortsightedly allowed to infest their nation are unassimilable, and that they'll be reaching a critical "them or us" situation before long. In such a survival situation, they'll do what's necessary.

UK is crippled by white guilt PC that is X by a thousand over their colonization past history and the domination of state-funded BBC for delivering all their news and pushing a multicultural for the sake of multicultural agenda.

I don't have much faith in their future.
Its going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

About that, there's no question.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The Muslims in this country are a distinct minority - repeat after me, 1.6 million out of 60 million, 1.6 million out of 60 million. Feel the brain cells start to energise and realise that we're no worse off than the United States - take a look at Jersey City, Dearborn, et al and you'll find your clutching just as many vipers to your chest as we are. Yet America will continue, and Britain is doomed?

I don't accept the point about the BBC either. Yes, they're leftist. So are ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR and yet again, you're not doomed.

Britain does have one advantage that is rarely ever discussed here - the stampede of immigrants that we have isn't from the Middle East. It's from Poland. Over half a million have already arrived.

There is something interesting happening in The UK. There is a definite change in the general publics attitudes toward the Muslim population, including both the liberal left (New Labour - latte, Guardian and Islington) and the traditional left (Old Labour - beer, Mirror and Glasgow).
It says something about the character of the population that this sense of anger is due more to the cartoon row and now the Pope's speech issue rather than the 7/7 bombings.

Its a kind of "bomb me if you will but don't f****** dare try and tell me what to think."

Reid makes multiple statements on the Muslim situation in the UK on a regular basis - sometimes even weekly, taking multiple positions. I get a feeling he is just playing CYA so he can quote one series to the right-wingers, another to the labour/lefties and a 3rd to the muzzies. I also think he is making an effort to look conciliatory on the one hand, but hard line enough to survive the next terrorist attack politically.
