Arabs Faking Attacks to Earn Matriculation Diplomas

(IsraelNN.com) Arab residents of Judea and Samaria are faking terror attacks, carrying knives or other weapons at IDF checkpoints in the hope of getting arrested. Doing so permits them an opportunity to spend time in an Israeli jail, where they can quietly study for a high school matriculation diploma, at no cost.

One would think that, with all the $millions in foreign aid from the UN, from other Arab countries, from Euros, from US taxpayers, that the Pali governing body could find some way to provide schooling.

How many $Billions did Arafat skim? Where is the accountability. Why isn't the UN jumping all over this failing? How much actual foreign aid per Pali are they getting?

Really... now we know they're merely objecting to the algebra homework.

Exactly, Too bad that the Arabs as a whole have gone way backwards since that first-Algebra era.

The entire article is only one paragraph longer than the exerpt.

According to a report filed by correspondent Haggai Huberman, sitting in jail a number of weeks or months is a small price to pay considering the gain and the prestige of becoming a "freed terrorist".

So it's a two-fer. Get your free education AND gain prestige as a "freed terrorist." Can't go wrong with that deal.

HAHAHAHAHA!

No I'm not laughing at you, you are absolutely right. But they don't think that way. These kinds of topics are the only place where cultural relativism has a valid point. There was an article posted recently about the Bazaar, the point of it was that in the Bazaar when the sellers knows you really really want to buy something, the price goes way up. Only if you reject the offer to buy it and sincerely express a need not to have it will you get it for a good price.

The point here is that, with all that aid AND other ways to get freebies, they don't have to sell anything. Everyone else is paying for nothing.

Of course, the cultural relativists won't look at it this way. They won't implement cultural relativism in foreign diplomacy - in those cases claims of oppression and poverty and victimhood trump. But the fact is giving in return for nothing results in a complete lack of accountability that you ask for, and so it should be no surprise that things are the way they are.

The West has to give up on this nonsense. Give them food and medicine if they need it, because that's the humanitarian thing to do, but until they give something they should get nothing else.

When I first read that article, I saw a little ray of hope. I thought maybe those Palis who would get arrested so they could get an education might come away with a better attitude than the jihadist suicide bomber types.

Maybe, they will return with a different attitude.

[It isn't much, it is the the best ray we've seen from that cesspool where the Palis are.]

A little ray of hope, maybe. But very small. Before Clinton recognized the PLO the relations between Israel and the Palestinians was better. Yeah, they had the first intifada and Arafat used that to catapult back into the limelight. And once he was there, he made it even worse.

The Palestinians should have a state, but they have to declare it. Nobody is going to give it to them... though they may get one by default. Israel withdrew from Gaza and wants to withdraw from most of the West Bank. If they do, then what?

Palestinians can be stateless (because they will refuse to declare their sovereignty on the land in which they live) and their leaders can go around begging the world for money which will go to pay off their clans and loyalists so that they can maintain their little feifdoms of hegemony over the populations. They can whine and moan about how Israel is mean for closing the border each time the Palestinian gangs go to the mattresses over who will collect they payoff for loading/unloading and transporting across the border.

That's all this is. They don't quite grasp the concept of nationalism even if they parrot it on the TV and in the international political arena. All it is is a bunch of people in clannish coalitions, and a few heavyweight gangs fighting it out for the gravy. Israel, as always, is just a convenient scapegoat so that when things get real heavy between the clans/gangs, they can use it as a common enemy to reunite them. Little sense of civic or national responsibility. But that tactic is quickly evaporating.

My opinion is, they need a strong nationalist leader like a Nasser, an Assad or an Ataturk who can unite them and put a lid on the religious fanatics. Arafat could have been such a man, but he was weak.. deep down he was just a common criminal and murderer and a gay pedophile, not a nationalist with the best interest of his people at heart. Haniyah is right-wing religous fanatic and Abbas is a wimp. So they are screwed for now.

In that sense, you may be right. These kids who are willing to go to jail to better themselves amidst all this chaos may very well be the smartest of the bunch.
