I hacve an acre here in east Tennessee. Got hit by the beetles several years ago and lost about 20 large pines. Only 2 or 3 survived. You have my condolences.

Thanks. We still have a fairly wooded feel and view, thanks to Cedars, Firs, Spuces, Dogwood and Oaks.

Here is a picture of our view. Before the bark beetle, we had no peek of the lake and the houses on the other side were hidden by pines...

Our HOA mandated that all dead pines had to removed by last year. Tree removal companies came from as far away as Oregon to remove trees at up to $1,000 per tree. If you had a dead pine that could fall and take out a power line, So Cal Edison would take it our for you. There are still up to 1,000,000 dead pines in the San Bernardino and Angelus National Forests.
