"National Priorities:When a secretary of defense gets confirmed 95-2 apparently because he says we are not winning a war, you know Uncle Sam must have a sign on his back that says "kick me."
We've come a long way from that day in April 1986 when President Ronald Reagan ordered Operation El Dorado Canyon, an air strike on Libya by two dozen F-111F fighter bombers in retaliation for a terrorist blast at a West Berlin disco that injured 200 people, including 63 U.S. soldiers, killing two.
Back then we took the fight to our enemies.".....

I can't seem to get this thread posted on News/Editorial. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
ping to the article source.
Now watch him spend the last two years folding like a cheap suit.

Excellent piece. Thanks for posting. Got my dander up!
"How times have changed. All we need now is Jimmy Carter sitting in front of a fireplace."
His Presidency was the beginning of the "P*ssification" of America. I loathe that man.
"They talk about stability and not victory. So does our incoming secretary of defense who says all options are on the table. Once the only option was winning. "
Another excellent editorial from IBD -- nails it.
Pretty well sums up the sickening situation. We have our 'leaders ' in Washington to thank as well as our selves for tolerating it.
Thanks, I loathe him as well. As my CIC for a couple of years he made a good Godfather for Jihadism.
Just one of the examples of the insane "political correctness" that is killing America. The butt-kissing of third world dumps MUST stop.
Is anyone in government willing to step up to the plate and start making America first?
It is a good piece though I think the comparison of President Reagan and President Bush is a tad unfair in that President Reagan kind of took a pass after Beirut.
But I am all for putting the symmetry back in warfare. In the long run, it saves lives, mostly the innocent ones.
BUMP!
PC is gonna get a whole bunch of us killed.
Gates = Meirs?
IBD editorial smack on target...
"Stability." "All options on the table." This is State Department drivel. George Bush never did get control of that 19th century relic and now it's screwing over the country just as it has for decades, and causing him the bulk of his problems. Careerist A-holes who don't give a damn about the USA-- and James Baker and co. are most contentedly at home in that weaselly milieu.
I agree with that wholeheartedly. Bush's biggest mistake was not cleaning house when he moved in. Clinton sucked but he had the balls to fire every US Attorney and replace them with his own people. Smart politics.
I think his very-narrow victory in 2000 made that impractical.
One wonders if Reagan had occupied Libya or Lebanon for 3 years with 3000 soldiers dying, if his reputation would be the same it is today.
