Assault Charges Dropped Against Finnerty

01/09/07 -- DURHAM) - More charges have been dropped against one of the suspects in the Duke Lacrosse case.
Colin Finnerty, one of three suspects charged with assault and kidnapping in the March 13, 2006, off campus party. Finnerty was found guilty of an assault charged in July 2006 in Washington D.C. The charges stemmed from allegations that Finnerty punched a man outside a bar in the Georgetown community in November 2005.
Last month a judge in Washington said he would remove the charge from Finnerty's record and the court confirms to Eyewitness News the conviction has been vacated.
The DC judge made the decision almost a week after Durham DA Mike Nifong dropped rape charges against Finnerty and two other lacrosse players.

It appears that this Duke case is unraveling on Nifong. It's just a matter of time before all charges are dropped.

I am beginning to panic now; I'm suppose to leave for Florida on the 19th and not be back until the 24th.

But it was related - he was under deferred adjudication, until Nifong charged him with rape - then DC said he had violated the terms of the deffered adjudication agreement because of the rape charge, and prosecuted him in DC for assault.

This is good. I recall the evidence against Colin Finnerty was "he said/she said". Finnerty alleged the other guy threw the first punch. The other guy said "no I didn't".
