SANTA FE Gov. Bill Richardson, goodfella?
Richardson and a list of other prospective presidential contenders were in the laugh limelight Wednesday on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." In his popular "Jaywalking" segment, Leno flashed their pictures to passers-by at Universal Studios and asked who they were.
Richardson, like the rest of the Oval Office possibles, didn't fare too well: The guy Leno showed Richardson's photo to thought the governor might be a character from the HBO TV series "The Sopranos."
"Don't know. Looks like somebody from 'The Sopranos,' but I'm not sure who," the unnamed passer-by told Leno. "I'm sure his PR people will be thrilled to hear that," Leno cracked.
The Journal on Thursday asked Richardson's office for comment on the identity mixup. But spokesman Josh McNeil had only this to say: "Fuhgeddaboutit."

The passerby wasn't far off the mark.......
I thought he looked a little like George Lopez.
Make no mistake. Looking like a cast member from the Sopranos will be the "kiss o death" for anyone with Presidential aspirations. (Ask Mayor Rudy Giuliani about it...he's toast and he knows it...too "New Yorky" too "Sopranos"...that "stuff" does nor play on Main Street USA.)
I saw a segment where there was a guy who voted for Kerry in the 2004 election who didn't even recognize Edwards from a picture.
I've always thought Richardson looks a lot like Fred Flintstone.
Show me the side by side. :o)
