Interesting, very interesting... Planned Parenthood using cancer causes to fund themselves.

Simply amazing, when one considers that there have been allegations of a strong link between artificially terminating a pregnancy and breast cancer.

Can you imagine a pro-life group doing something like this?

The media would destroy the movement forever. Because these are liberals, you will not hear a peep from the press.

IIRC, They also use a very large percentage of donations for admin and advertising. Only a very small portion of what they take in goes to actual cancer research. (They are not the only “charity” guilty of this. I am now a little wiser and try to check out the charities I donate to to see how much of my donation just funds the fat cats who run it.) If anyone knows otherwise, please correct me.

We stopped giving to the Susan G. Komen Breast Foundation when we found out less than 17% of the money donated in our area stays here. Now we support our local womens health center. I didn't know about their liberal leanings. Thanks for the information. I'll spread the word.

Unbelievable ... especially when new medical reports are showing increase chance of breast cancer is directly linked to those who had abortions.

How many readers have donated hard-earned cash for the Susan G. Komen Breast Foundation? How many of you have run or walked to support a "race for the cure"?

I have not run or walked to support a cause. To me it is mindless and non productive. Something productive would be something like "Adopt a Highway" program whereas a volunteer group cleans up a strip of highway or road. Or where a volunteer group cleans up an empty lot in an inner city so it can be used as a playground. The race for the cure is basically a feel good effort so you can say you did something not realizing that the status of research was unchanged by your walk unless you picked up cans and bottles and exchanged them for money that you donated to feed the poor.

Tampa/St. Pete will be having a walk/run for the cure event today.

They have been blasting the local channels with adverts.
I’ve had it with these people always trying to get your
donations with the high powered pleads, and if that doesn’t
work they try to guilt you into a donation.

Hate to sound cold, but the donation thing has taken an ugly turn....IMO

If this were true it wouldn’t surprize me but the author needs to cite the sources of his information.

“How many of you know your breast cancer donations go to the pro-abortion outfit Planned Parenthood?”

Who, in turn, give out drugs and perform procedures which can lead to an increased risk of said cancers.

Go LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL when possible. More of your money will be used for the purpose intended. You also may find opportunites for in-kind contributions or volunteering that may be as valuable to the organization (and more valuable to you) than money.

Not only that, you are more likely to see the results of your contribution. There will always be money for research, but is there always money for an elderly person to have a prosthesis or a low income mother to get an early detection mammogram? Most local breast cancer centers use money for these and similar issues.

Here are the "liberal" credentials of the Komen Foundation founder, Nancy Brinker:

Ambassador Nancy Goodman Brinker (born December 6, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois) is the founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization named after her only sister, Susan, who died from breast cancer in 1980 at age 36. Brinker has helped build Komen by fostering a coalition of relationships within the business community, government, and volunteer sectors in the United States.

On June 18, 2007, President George W. Bush nominated Brinker to be Chief of Protocol of the United States and to have the rank of ambassador and assistant under secretary of state. Brinker was sworn in to the post on September 14, 2007.

In this role, Brinker advises, assists and supports the president of the United States, the vice president and the secretary of state on official matters of diplomatic procedure. She accompanies the president on official visits abroad and serves as the president's personal representative and liaison to the foreign Ambassadors in Washington. Under her direction, the Office of the Chief of Protocol is responsible for activities including the planning, hosting and officiating of ceremonial events for visiting chiefs of state and heads of government, as well as coordinating logistics for the visits. The office also manages Blair House, the president's guesthouse.
