Heres how you sell a book. Its easy.
First, get a job in the administration of George W. Bush. You have to keep it for awhile I mean, certainly more than a week or two so you can claim some degree of credibility. Then get out of Dodge (getting fired for being ineffectual is not a problem), turn around and write a book that parrots everything Bushs critics say about him.
Welcome to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Its not even hard. The mainstream media and the Democrats pretty much write the book for you. All you have to do is claim to have observed behind closed doors what they say in the papers and on TV.
And Scott McClellan is a very fortunate man. He wasnt even smart enough to figure this out, but he found himself with a publisher who was willing to point the way. Left-wing editor Peter Osnos, owner of publishing house PublicAffairs, worked with McClellan to hone the content and direction of the book. Thats why the former White House press secretary, fired in 2005 for the tepid ineffectiveness that was painfully obvious to everyone, has now fired off a revenge-seeking tell-all.

I’m not against tell-all books, but this situation is something else. McClellan was fired, and fired employees either want or seek revenge. The fact is he was not involved in the loop, so exactly how much could he possibly know? Not a lot in my estimation. Why aren’t Ari Fleischer and Tony Snow, two people who left honorably, piling on with Scottie the Rat?
Ari has been on FNC talking about this. I heard last week that Tony is ill again. Don’t know if that is true.
In college, I worked in a grocery store. I learned almost as much working there as I did in college. The manager was not a very good or professional manager. But he had one skill, he made good hiring decisions and was able to hire good people and keep them. History would be a lot kinder to Jorge if he had been able to surround himself with better people than he did. Scotty is a rat alright, but Jorge does not have much of nose for smelling a rat, if he did he would not always be finding himself in bed with Teddy Kennedy.
