Brigitte Bardot fined for racism
From correspondents in Paris
June 03, 2008 11:19pm Article from: Agence France-Presse
FRANCE'S 1960s screen icon Brigitte Bardot has received a 15,000 euros ($24,440) fine today for inciting hatred against Muslims.
In December 2006, the film star-turned-animal rights activist wrote a letter to France's then interior minister, current President Nicolas Sarkozy, arguing that Muslims should stun animals before slaughtering them during the Aid al-Kabir holiday.
She outraged anti-racist groups by saying: "I've had enough of being led by the nose by this whole population which is destroying us, (and) destroying our country by imposing their ways.''
Ms Bardot, now 73 and suffering from arthritis, was absent from today's court hearing in Paris.
She wrote to the court saying: "I'm sickened by how (these organisations) are harassing me.''
"I will not shut up until stunning is carried out on animals before their ritual slaughter."

“She outraged anti-racist groups by saying: “I’ve had enough of being led by the nose by this whole population which is destroying us, (and) destroying our country by imposing their ways.’’”
Regardless of the focus on animals, she’s right.
Bridget Bardot; more balls than most of the wuss-ass, feminized pussies that make up America’s male population these days.......
Will FReepers in France now go underground?
Ms. Bardot, come on over to the US where we still have free speech.........for a while, anyway......
viva Bridget...How does one nominate her for the Nobel Peace Prize. I think she deserves it for simply stating the truth about the “religion of peace”.
She’s got the “imposing their ways on us” argument 100 percent right.
And if that’s racist speech, its only a taste of what will sweep the UK and US in the name of “tolerance” and “diversity.”
Do they fine the radical imams who spew racism and incite hatred in their mosques?
Brigitte and Harriet Christian would get along well. :)
In France, the aristocracy always gets the guillotine.
‘Do they fine the radical imams who spew racism and incite hatred in their mosques?”
BLASPHEMER!!!!
Better yet how do i send that lady twenty dollars?
She’s not saying “You can’t kill animals”, that’s the PETA position. She is merely saying “you must kill animals humanely, in keeping with the standards we in the West have agreed to and imposed on oursleves for several generations”.
I think she is wholely in the right in her demand. It is outrageous that ANYONE can be fined $25,000 for merely writing a letter to object to something to a public servant, or engage in political debate.
The left-fascists are tightening the loop very quickly in Europe.
My hat is off to Miss Bardot for her courage. Why is it the only ones speaking up bravely in Europe are elderly woman? Oriana Fallaci, now Bardot. Strange.
In Miss Bardot’s case I suppose if once you were considered the most beautiful woman in the world, and now you are a typically old and wrinkled 73 year old lady it becomes a bit easier to see through the surface pretensions of many things.
ping.
“peta versus islam”
——like a stopped clock, PETA may be right twice every
1,000 years. Islam even is occasionally right, if you don’t consider the rest of the package/
Besides, this is just one avenue on which one can find
ways to justifiably attack Islam. That they are there in France AT ALL, challenging the “Western” ways of European communities, is France’s fault. La Bardot is just making her native country see that, and for that (of course) she is fined, as much to appease and mollify the Islamics, as to exert their authority over citizens and fill their coffers/
Ms. Bardot is a brave woman. I think we should take a lesson from the French because we are very close to having such laws in this country but those laws would not be there to protect just Muslims. It would be there to protect every behaviorally degenerate class of people you can imagine while used to torment and harass the free speech of patriots and Christians.
