Let’s not over-do. Col. West was not commander of the 4th Infantry Division, Lt. Col. West was a battalion commander within the 4th Infantry Division.

Col. West sounds awesome -- but this statement by the writer reveals a total ignorance of matters military -- it is an embarrassment to the candidate. No doubt Col. West has not forgotten what he commanded, and it was a battalion, not the entire 4th ID. The writer needs a good kick to get things right and not undermine the candidate in this way.

I just really, really do LIKE this man! I would love to meet him, just so I could shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciate his service to his country and his soldiers. In lew of that, I will send him a contribution.

I hope my young nephew, an Airborne Ranger, rates such a conscientious officer. It is every families’ most desperate prayer, to have their relatives life given the value it deserves. Thank you, Colonel.
