I bought my laptop computer. Because I have some disability in my hands I am looking for a dock for it. I have found three docks from Targus, ACP 45, 50, or 60. The 60 is for big video issues. Looking around the internet the review are pretty grim. Amazon and CNET. Is there any black box that I can plug into my laptop that will let me plug in my all in one printer, my backup dooohicky (yes, after all those crashes you saved me from I finally have backup doohickies)
My computer is a 64bit machine running Vista for 64 bits.
That may complicate thigs a bit.
Sorry I don't any answeres for you, though.
would a 4:1 USB hub work?
The one I use for my Dell attaches my printer, USB keyboard, USB mouse, and back-up HDD with one quick USB connection.
Those are the kind of days to stay home. Keeps the sun from burning my Seattleite white skin.
Techie white!!! Unless you are Asian or black!!
There is no need to backup your computer. Your files are safe.
This has to be voted the most important thread of the day.
You should be able to plug your monitor/mouse/keyboard straight into your laptop through your video interface and on-board USB ports. If your mouse/keyboard/backup “doohickey” is USB, a USB hub should help.
Here’s a website where you can find a doc who Aspires to Ace your condition:

(sorry, I couldn’t resist)
Step 1: Ditch Vista
Step 2: Get any other OS......
then we can talk about doing some real work.
There haven’t been enough warnings against MS Vista to keep you from buying a laptop with Vista installed?
I mean, most computer makers will downgrade the installed version to WinXP Pro if you ask them.
So, after acknowledging that all that advice about backup doohickies was good, you turn around and spurn the equally good advice about Vista?
“Good gravy, man, you’re doomed.”
“DOOMED.”
;-)
Wouldnt performance degrade with the keyboard, the all in one printer, the mouse and the speakers all connected into one usb? I have somthing on the machine called:an EXPRESS CARD which is supposed to make things faster.
Also just talked to the Targus techie in the tech departmetn and he said the docks would not be compatable with my config. I had talked to customer service yesterday who assued me it would fit.
The difference between CS and the Tech department is like the difference between making out and great sex.

I think I heard this before!!

I had to get at least a two in speed and a 4gig in working memory to run the dragon naturally speaking that wont fit this until early next year. I am ready to cry.
a friend had the same computer. based on his experience, any dock will do. just wind up good so you clear the surf line on the throw
SAVED BY GRACE??!!
If you are telling me I am DOOMED I am in real trouble.
