The networks/cable shows will have their heads explode if they change the schedule.
After all, it's all about THEM.

White House says they do not want the President addressing a convention on a Monday night when a landfalling disaster is happening possibly in Louisiana again.
The meetings will continue throughout the morning.

How does a hurricane on the Gulf Coast affect a convention in Minneapolis? Have the libs in this country succeeded in turning the GOP into a bunch of wussies?

The change is not when the convention is being held, it’s when the President will address the convention. Original schedule was for GW to address on Monday night....now, probably not going to happen as scheduled ( could be a satellite feed, though).

I just saw that on Fox.
They said President Bush’s speech might get delayed.
If it gets real bad.. i wonder if they’d delay the whole thing?

Delay the start until the following Monday to be sure...I am not sure what the X-Cel Center has on their schedule and what is reserved there but it might make a lot of sense also because Hannah has formed in the Atlantic as well and is forecasted to become a CAT 2 Cane in the Bahamas by Monday as well.

Why doesn’t the RNC get FEMA to change the schedule of the hurricane instead?

Rush said he expected Obama and Biden to be down in New Orleans with sandbags.. while the Republican Convention is going on.
And you know the press would eat it up.

They don’t want a storm stealing news coverage. The know the Dim media would love that...and/or making a storm a W/McCain issue.

FEMA is meeting with the RNC AS WELL as the White House over his speech. It would not look good at all if there is a catastrophe taking place and Republicans are seen partying in the twin cities at the same time.

I agree, can you imagine the reaction on MSNBC, among others, if Bush or Cheney gives a political speech while New Orleans et. al. is ravaged again by a hurricane and floods? The criticism would be merciless.

It would be a live shot scripted for the DNC right from God’s hands. Obama in a heavy black populated area with Biden bringing up Katrina every minute of the day...in a boat rescuing people...going door to door to help people while Spike Lee follows with a camera crew.

GWB should just direct Rove to turn the weather machine to weaken the storm so as not to steal the RNC thunder.

And you know the press would eat it up.Well of course that would be the whole point. The media would simply love it.
