Sarah Palin's parallel universe
Kansas City Star ^ | 10/07/08 | Barb Shelly, Kansas City Star editorial page columnist

Dana Milbank of the Washington Post has an interesting account of Sarah Palin's day campaigning in Florida. The McCain campaign's designated pitbull is going after the mainstream media and, as Milbank reports in this startling account, things are getting ugly:

In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."

Does John McCain want to win the presidency by unleashing that kind of nastiness?

The media isn't responsible for Palin's rough edges. If anything, news organizations have treated the vice presidential nominee with undue deference. She's attempting to create a parallel universe, in which context and truth take a back seat to snappy lines and folksy talk. Fortunately, most Americans seem disinclined to go there

OMG!!!! These journalists really live in a different world. I guess to them reporting and legitimizing a vicious rumor that Gov. Palin's newborn Trig was not her and Todd Palin's child, is showing "deference".

This reporter should go observe the civility or lack thereof of the left sometime.

She's attempting to create a parallel universe

Hopefully not one where she has a goatee. That would just be wrong.

These lying MSM vermin have been part and parcel of the largest smear campaign against Sarah Palin since Joseph Goebbels lied six million Jews into gas chambers.

Dana is a typical WarshPost "newsie" ~ solidly anti-semitic and willing to toss babies on pitchforks.

I'd be over there with a sign this evening at the front gate of their printing plant but I know they have truck drivers going in and out of there who carry guns.

The Post is entirely too dangerous to mess with alone.

Crowd of 3,000...even the St. Pete Times reported it was upwards of 5,000.

Hahahaha to these reporters a boo is shouting abuse, and telling a black man “sit down boy” is racist.

These folks remind me of women who come to work all decked out and then get offended, or say they are, if some man tells the “nice dress”

They had a great torture device in “Mirror, Mirror”. I think it was called the tantalizer. It was better than water boarding.

Talk about living in a parallel universe.

Where’s their proof? I wouldn’t take their word for it unless they have video proof.

COOL!!! I hope more people turn on the MSM. McCain/Palin supporters should express their displeasure with MSM at everyone of their events. Get right in their face and let this internal enemy know we're not taking their BS anymore!!!

Astounding, simply astounding. Clear evidence, however, that there is in fact, a Palin Derrangement Syndrome. This person actually belives that statement.
