Obama must juggle high expectations, big challenges

11:59 PM CST on Saturday, November 8, 2008

By GROMER JEFFERS JR., MICHAEL LINDENBERGER and DIANNE SOLÍS / The Dallas Morning News

Barack Obama is going to fix the economy, provide health care to all Americans, win two wars, restore the country's standing abroad and put an end to centuries of racism. At least that's the hope of millions of voters who are looking to the president-elect to solve the nation's ills and improve their lots in life.

Mr. Obama, who campaigned with soaring promises of change and hope, may carry a bigger burden than any president in modern history.

As the nation's first black president, his challenge is more daunting because many supporters expect him to create a just society in America, if not help reshape the world.

And many who opposed him for president are watching – and waiting for him to fail.

"He will have to do 110 percent of what a white president would do," said Jorge Alvarez, 51, owner of Dichos bookstore in Oak Cliff's Bishop Arts District. "I think he is going to have a tougher battle than if he was white."

Is that all? Obama can easily lie 11000 percent as much as any other president could do, with the possible exception of Hillary's husband.

Look what has happened to our modern society. We base our choices not on leadership and experience, but on frothy hope and false perception. Europeans are especially guilty of this, which is why they are ecstatic over Obama’s election. This very real weakness is an open door to our enemies, who are the real plotters and thinkers and who will take us all over in time. That's what the media have done for the world and now the masters of socialism will prevail.

Yep!

And the media will gleefully report it as “fact”.

Thanks, folks!

Gotta head out for the day.

Y’all have a GREAT Sunday. :)

The chosen one now bears the burden (to his race) of a black man being a successful POTUS.

When he fails, how long will it be before this Country elects another?

Obozo inherits an UNjust Society and will CHANGE it to a JUST Society.

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

Saul Alinsky on "Change"...

From Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlines his strategy in organizing, writing:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution."[2]
