A SENIOR Tory MP joked about MURDERING a Miss California contestant on a popular TV show.

Shadow leader of the House of Commons Alan Duncan was appearing on BBC comedy show "Have I Got News For You" when he made the gaffe.

Mr Duncan, who had earlier in the show revealed his ambition to become Home Secretary, was discussing American Beauty Queen Carrie Prejean's belief that same sex marriages were wrong.

And the MP called her a "silly b***h" and said "If you read that Miss California is murdered you will know it was me".

You know, California JUST VOTED to AMEND their Constitution to ban homosexual "marriages".

From the way this story is being covered, even here, you would think Miss California was some kind of minority-view holding freak, not someone whose opinions were shared by large majorities in every state that has voted on this issue.

I was going to make the same comment concerning Imus but you beat me too it. The differences are clear. Imus is a radio talk show host and somewhat of a "shock jock" who routinely makes outrageous statements and thus lives on the edge. Sometime he goes over the top but that's to be expected for someone like him.

This fellow is a British Politician and thus needs to be held to a much higher standard on what they say. To even joke about killing this woman and calling her a *itch is way over the top. In short this guy is scum and should be tossed out regardless. I don't believe it will happen though. If he had made the same statement about a prominent homosexual like say Elton John or someone of the like then he would be gone for sure. The Double Standard is amazing.
