INDIANAPOLIS — Two Muslim inmates held in a special unit at the U.S. prison in Terre Haute say they aren’t allowed to pray in groups as often as their religion commands and have asked a federal judge to ease limitations on worship imposed by the Bureau of Prisons.

The prison in western Indiana houses several high-security inmates, including American-born Taliban soldier John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Afghanistan’s now-defunct Taliban government.

The June 16 lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana challenges limits on Islamic worship in the prison’s restrictive Communications Management Unit, where about 30 of the 40 inmates are Muslim.

If they have to pray in groups, does that mean they cannot be in seg or in solitary?

This from the same ACLU which files suit to PREVENT Christian groups from holding Bible studies in prison facilities. That mixes state and religion, of course......

Change that to Christian worship and see how fast the ACLU jumps on it.

With such atrocious conditions, you'd think it was a prison or something...

So let me get this straight!

It’s OK for “Moooselems’ to pray on FEDERAL PROPERTY, but you can’t say ‘GRACE’ at a school???

Hypocrites..

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how this is handled. Obviously if these inmates are in solitary there is probably a substantial state interest in keeping them solitary. It will be interesting to see how the court weighs these interests or what is acceptable as far as being in a group? I’m hoping it is some kind of soundproof plexiglass job.

When you go to prison, you lose many of your constitutional rights. Throw the lawsuit out!

Well, there goes the argument that if a facility is supported by Federal Funds, praying is a No No. It has been an argument since the 60’s when the Supreme Court banned school prayer that such prayer could be illegal because Federal Funds were supporting the schools. Now, as I see it, a Federal Prison is totally supported by Federal Funds and the rag heads get the OK to pray. Something is rotten in Copenhagen.

Now this is really rich. The same ACLU that wants NO prayers in schools where it may help some young people straighten out and stay out of prison, wants more prayers IN prisons where it’s a little late to be helpful. These Godless excuses for a human being need to be completely done away with.

And the same ACLU that has no comment when the Univ of Michigan spends public funds to build foot baths for its Muslim students.

And the same ACLU who fights against Christmas in the public square, but not Ramadan, because Ramadan is “historical.”

The ACLU: Founded by members of a certain religion, with the goal of destroying the foundations of this country.

They are in prison so they have no right. They are in prison for a reason which means they also don’t care about their rights or else they wouldn’t have committed the crimes that got them there.

Play the minerette chanting ALL night long for a few days, then pass out screwdrivers and butter knives.
