Missouri ping

Low volume ping list

FReepmail me to be on, or off, this list.

McCaskill is going to be busy on Monday.
Three town hall meetings.
Two in the eastern region (Hannibal and Moberly) and one in the western (Kansas City).

And, of course, it's during normal working hours when normal employed people can't come to them unless they take time off.

But according to Chris Stigall this morning on 710 KCMO radio you can’t get a pass for the town hall. He stated you have to go to McCaskill’s web site and it sends the Kansas City folks a link to the Hanibal, Mo town hall.

McCaskill Hosts Health Care Listening Forums Across Missouri in August

In Hannibal, Moberly, and Kansas City, McCaskill hosts events to listen to concerns related to health care reform efforts

Register Hannibal | Register Moberly | Register KC
WASHINGTON, D.C. – As more and more Americans and businesses struggle to afford health care coverage, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill has been hearing from Missourians who are concerned about health care reform efforts in Washington. During the August home work period, McCaskill will be traveling across the state hosting a series of town hall events and roundtables to gather input and listen to concerns.

On Monday, August 24th, McCaskill will be traveling across the state to host health care forums in Hannibal, Moberly, and Kansas City. Visit McCaskill’s website to sign up to attend the Hannibal forum, the Moberly forum or the Kansas City forum. McCaskill has already hosted forums in Kennett, Poplar Bluff and Jefferson County. Additional events are scheduled for the rest of the work period for a total of ten open forums across the state. For more information, please contact one of McCaskill’s five Missouri offices.

McCaskill is committed to reforming health care in America in a way that does not add to the federal deficit. As the health care reform bill makes its way through the relevant Senate committees, McCaskill will be looking for a bill that provides consumer choices, brings down the overall cost of health care and delivers better outcomes for patients. During her listening tour, she intends to gather Missourians’ views on health care and take them back with her when she returns to Washington to debate the health care bill in the fall.

Constituents are highly encouraged to register for the events. Depending on the turn-out, there may be more people wishing to attend the event than there is capacity to hold them. Seating may be limited and will be first come, first serve. Additional events will be advised in the next few days.

Individuals with disabilities who require auxiliary aids or services to participate in this event should contact Samantha Brewer at 573-442-7130 for the events in Hannibal and Moberly and Terri Bar at 816-421-1639 for the Kansas City event, no later than Friday, August 21, 2009.

This woman is like fingernails on a blackboard.
I was pleased to see a pair of GOpers announce plans to run against Ike. The candidate we have had previously didn't inspire many followers.

So what do nursing care owners gain out of this bill? McCaskill is a nursing home queen and nursing home owners would be most likely the first drop for Bama’s magic pill remedy for America's grandmas.

Hannibal huh? Sometimes, it’s really a shame that Mark Twain isn’t here anymore, to write about how the meetings go. He thrived on government lies and treachery.

If you put younger people in those nursing homes they can take care of themselves to a greater degree.

At a guess, less employees means bigger profits.

True enough but right now nursing homes are filled to the brim with 'old' people. Liberals do not push legislation that is NOT profitable for themselves. So sure got to wonder what Claire expects to reap off culling out old people with Bama's magic pill. Something is not clear here.

“public office is private graft” S. Clemens

That ought to be on McCaskill’s desk.

Thanks for the ping.

For SW MO Freepers, McCaskill will be in Springfield, MO on August 31. She will have a town hall meeting at 12:30PM at the Gilloiz Theater, 325 Park Central East (just East of the Public Square).
