The California Teachers Association is running a TV ad saying Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman could cut $7 billion in state education funding and lay off 100,000 teachers. Following is an analysis by Jack Chang of The Bee Capitol Bureau:
If our future starts here, should California continue the cutbacks that are crippling our classrooms?
Meg Whitman's plan says yes.
Whitman's plan could cut another $7 billion from our schools. Teacher layoffs 100,000 more. Thirty-three percent larger class sizes. And even more cuts to arts and music programs that deny our kids a well-rounded education.
Tell Meg Whitman that cutting education to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy is wrong for our schools and California's future.
The ad makes major assumptions about Whitman's budget plan that reach mostly misleading conclusions.

Maybe the California Republicans can make that happen here!
Oh. Wait a minute, what am I talking about? Never mind.
Another story of no cuts in our back yard you take the hit.
Here here.... if Brown and Boxer win this state I fell America is lost....... it can get this bad and the people still want these loons to govern them.... all over weed, man on man marriage and baby killing facilities. Lord help us.
Class size goes down. Special Ed requirments go down. ESL requirements drop to near zero. Work load on school nurses and counselors drops significantly.
Ditto!
I have NEVER seen an ad paid for by any teacher’s union that told the truth.
When the public connects their political ads with what is happening in the classrooms with their kids, they might get a clue.
Step 1 to curing California’s Education woes: Stop educating illegal aliens.
