Clinton gets gun ban exemption(Phillipines)

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has granted the gun ban application of former United States President William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton. The Manila Times was able to obtain a one-page certificate of authority issued by the Comelec where the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Personnel (CBFSP) for the October 25, 2010 Barangay (village) and Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) elections, chaired by poll body Commissioner Lucenito Tagle, granted the gun ban exemption to a large number of Clinton’s security personnel from the US Protective Service Agents.

Clinton, the 42nd president of the US, will be in the Philippines on November 10, as speaker of the forum “President Bill Clinton Live in Manila” at the Manila Hotel to share his insights as the former “most powerful man in the world” and his continuing legacy around the world.

Besides Tagle, the other members of the CBFSP who signed Clinton’s approval for exemption were Senior Supt. Anselmo Simeon Pinili of the Philippine National Police and Brig. Gen. Rolando Hautea Jr. of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The Certificate of Authority on the gun ban exemption was issued on November 2.

Clinton will visit the Philippines even after the US issued a travel advisory warning of possible terrorist attacks in the country in the wake of the foiled mail-bomb strike on American soil, which was allegedly perpetrated by the al Qaeda network.

Besides the US, the United Kingdom and Australia have issued similar advisories warning their citizens not to travel to the Philippines, especially Mindanao.

The approval of the Comelec was issued after the US Embassy in Manila sent a diplomatic note to the Department of Foreign Affairs and a letter to the Comelec on October 29, 2010, bearing the names of the secret service agents to be exempted during the visit of Clinton to the country.

Typical statist philosophy. No guns for you, but plenty for me!

I think this paragraph qualifies the article for a BARF alert.

Exactly right - spot on!

I guess the Muslim guerilla terrorists in the Phillipines are also exempt, eh?

Clinton’s legacy is helping China make their missiles more accurate.

Bernard Schwartz, CEO of LORAL Corporation, gave money to the Clinton campaign. Clinton allowed LORAL to sell the Chinese the technology to make their rockets more accurate....this was when China was having trouble launching communication satellites into orbit. The same technology made China’s ICBM’s more accurate. Thanks, Bill and Hill.

Wait! What?

I thought progressives said guns were ‘evil’?

I guess that doesn’t apply if THEY need it for protection?

Can’t let the elitists go unarmed...

I know this has nothing to do with Clinton, but I do have a question on something that happened to me regarding guns.
I am a 57 year old grandmother. I changed doctors (within the same office) and they were setting up the new Electronics Medical Records for me required by the government. (I'm sure this has been discussed on this site, but I missed it.) The nurse was asking me a barrage of questions & we were have a friendly discussion; or so I thought. She asked if I had any guns, but I thought she was going to ask about my husbands hunting. I mistakenly answered that we had lots of guns. Then when she typed something and asked me exactly how many I had, I told her to stop. I told her it was no ones business, especially the governments, what I have. She then was offended and acted like I was hiding some criminal act because I did not answer her questions. I told her I did not want any private info regarding our guns in my file. I don't know if she put something in my file or not. Questions. Do I have a right to see my EMR? All of it, so I can make sure she did not include something I told her was private. I'm wondering if the reason this was asked was because last Christmas I bought my husband a gun for Christmas and I had to go to the police and get a license to buy the gun. Anyone know my rights here? Anyone know where I can find all the questions asked by the nurses/doctors for the EMR? My husband and his fellow hunters are wondering about this. Thanks.

The ‘right’ has a terrible misconception that libs hate guns which is totally wrong. Libs love their guns and wouldn’t hesitate to use them (usually wrongly). What they do strenuously object to is YOU owning guns. They’re above reproach but you, well you’ll ALWAYS be suspect. So, when you hear a lib saying no one needs a gun you must understand what they’ll really communicating is its OK for them but not you. Make sense? :)
