CNN Stock futures page shows DOW futures down 189 points. Don't believe that is correct. Bloomberg site shows them up 24 points. Which is correct?

The futures close at 4:15 EST. They then reopen at 4:30 PM. So the “UP” that you are most likely seeing is compared to the 4:15 close.
The -189 looks like yesterday’s close to me
Wait until that housing data hits.

This is the link I use to check futures...it’s easier to read than most “futures” data.

—or the cpi; then with tomorrow’s unemployment news it’s no wonder the markets in correction.
At 6:40 AM EST the Dow futures are up about 20, Dec gold is at 1334, down 91 from an all-time high last week of 1425. The Dec dollar index is at 79.345, up over $3 in two weeks from a low of 75.77 on Nov 4. When gold corrects, it’s usually ugly, may pull back to 1250.
We may see a continued correction in the US markets. If the S&P closes below 1170, it could pull back to support at 1125. That’s where I’d start nibbling. Nov options expiration is this Friday, could be some fireworks, especially if nothing gets done on extending the Bush tax cuts (for everybody).
With the election over, the PPT has no reason to prop up stock prices....
Good call.
