HUDSON, N.Y. - Residents of the Hudson City School District voted against the 2011-2012 proposed school budget Tuesday night, however following the polls closing the board of education reversed the decision.
The results of the Hudson school budget vote showed 1,249 residents against the budget, and only 424 in favor of the budget. The school board voted in the budget after polls closed, despite the rejected budget results.
The school board's vote was split 4 to 3.
According to the Hudson City Superintendent, the budget presented was less than a contingency budget would be.

Do you feel it is fair for the school board to have the right to override the voting results from the public?
Thank you for participating in our poll. Here are the results so far:
Yes 8%
No 92%
how democratic
at least they didn’t try to recount until they got the results they wanted ;)
When the people vote their way the people’s votes are sacrosanct. When the people vote against them, the people’s votes are unconstitutional, uninformed, etc.
lol
What the F-ing F is going on in this country???
Was the public vote just a ‘non-binding’ opinion poll???
STORM THE HOMES OF THESE LIBTARDS
What was that line from that one song where they ask what they want and the answer is always just “more”
that is exactly how it is
They’ve been doing it for decades - no body’s stopped ‘em yet
The institutions of government have become increasingly lawless.
Thanks to liberalism, school districts, the courts, the Congress (2006-10) have somehow decided that the people have no voice in their deliberations or decisions.
It is inevitable that, someday, they will pay a terrible price.
The present school board will be gone next election...
According to Wilipedia, “Hudson is paired with Pallisa, Uganda, as a sister city.” Indeed.
