One thing is for certain. "Antwun" will no longer be a festering boil on the backside of America.
No good deed goes unpunished.
I still don’t get this story. Is there something we’re missing? You can’t shoot a robber now? Why?
Just about the tenth time this has been posted, are you trying to whip a dead horse are something///?????
He hasn’t even been sentenced yet.....He defended himself successfully, was no longer in danger, went and got another gun and shot his unconscious assailant 5 times at point blank range killing him.
Murder, execution style.
For those that haven’t seen it, here’s a clip of the news story with the security camera footage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHshsgpsxFg
79 shots in 8 seconds, for someone 14 feet away with a knife. That’s self defense for police. Little people need not apply.
I’m just surprised they could find a jury to convict him. This is one of those cases where I simply would have looked at the first few seconds of the video and been done, as far as rendering a verdict. Unless ‘twan (or the DA, in this case) could prove that he was ‘forced into a life of crime’ or at least into this crime, then it’s just plain tough that things didn’t work out as planned. And, as far as I know, that was not brought up.
There are lots of states where ‘twan actions would be welcomed, or at least tolerated. Trying that stunt in OK, TX, or the South usually interferes with moving into the next stage of adulthood (or moving into adulthood, in ‘twan’s case).
Well it was murder BUT the kid should not have done that in the first place. In hindsight, future victims of the “assailant” will now be safer.
Damn camera.(cough)

After chasing the accomplice from the store, Ersland then gets a second gun before shooting Parker another five times, almost a minute after he fired the first gunshot.I'd want to hear a lot more testimony about how much of a threat was Parker during that minute.
If someone decides to purchase a firearm, they really need to read, study and understand the “use of deadly force laws” in their state or jurisdiction.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse, and laws governing the use of deadly force and firearms are not about common sense, they are about legal technicalities, judicial precedents, and what a “reasonable man” would do with emotion not clouding his thinking.
The initial shooting of the robber's accomplice was probably an appropriate use of deadly force (but a jury would need to decided that). Going and getting a second firearm and shooting someone who was no longer an active threat or not a danger to the pharmacists life, was not considered an appropriate use of deadly force by the jury.
We will see what the judge does when he decides the sentence.
Unreal.
The governor needs to pardon this man.
The Pharmacist still did society a favor by ridding us of a criminal...he just took more shots to do it. And somehow that bumps him from no prison to life?
The Pharmacist may have overreacted, but the only way he should’ve gotten a life sentence was if he got into his car and followed the wounded robber to the hospital and killed him there. Under the described circumstances, the worst he should get would be ten years probation just to make sure he behaves himself.
The events did not make the Pharmacist a murderer.
If the store owner was Black and the kid white, this would have never made the news. And the store owner would have been found not guilty.
I know this is vanity but if I was the president of the US I’d make it very clear during my administration that I’ll pardon immediately anyone who is convicted on any charges stemming from them defending their life or property.
I know that would make it open season on the crooks but so...
I don’t think the Pharmacist should have been convicted. The jury should have given him the benefit of the doubt and no billed him.
I have been in situations involving the potential use of guns for protection nad it is different than you think. The only thing that exists is the target.
