Yep, “Imagine” by John Lennon has become something of an anthem among liberal radical types.

So, Francis Scott Key is out, and John Lennon is in?

On a side note, I have attended a number of girls college basketball games at San Diego State. While many of the players put their hands over their hearts during the national anthem, many players do not. The coach of San Diego State does, and theoretically is setting an example for her players. She should make it mandatory for the players to give their full respect during the anthem, or else, they can forfeit their scholarships and leave the team.

This is more liberal claptrap seeping into the culture.

Exactly what is wrong with the Star Spangled Banner? Was Francis Scott Key homophobic or a slave holder? Did he oppose women’s rights back in his day? Do the words about the land of the free and the home of the brave offend the sensibilities of enviro-activists????

I would love to know that answer too! I read the article, but nowhere is there a definitive statement as to what their problem is with the anthem, aside from some amorphous glop about "the national anthem compromised the ability of college constituents to advance the vision together". What the hell does that even mean?
