Raymond Jefferson, one of Obama's political appointees to the Department of Labor has resigned after an internal investigation found that he improperly steered federal contracts to friends and former colleagues.

The Honorable Raymond Jefferson, Assistant Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training Service at the U.S. Department of Labor. Secretary Jefferson was appointed to this role by President Barack Obama. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Harvard’s Business School and Kennedy School of Government, he also served as an Army officer with the Rangers and Special Forces (Green Berets).
