As my regular readers (both of em) know, Im taking a summer vacation away from my blog (I think it has something to do with my girlfriends desire that I occupy my time with things that actually produce an income). As I technically still consider myself on vacation, this post will be a bit looser and more informal than my other pieces (as evidenced by the fact that Im breaking my rule of never writing in the first-person). Hell, I might not even spell-check it as rigorously as I usually do. Sue me; Im on vacation.
Also, as my regular readers know, there is no single subject to which I have devoted more time than Muslim terror. I take pride in having had my stories carried on pretty much every anti-Islamist website around, from FrontPageMag and Atlas Shrugged, to Steven Emersons Investigative Project on Terrorism, Jerusalem Pulse Radio, Moonbattery, WorldNetDaily, NewsReal Blog, Islamist Watch, Daniel Pipes Middle East Forum, The Blaze, HotAir.com, Right Pundits, Creeping Sharia, Michelle Malkins site, etc., etc., etc.
Nevertheless, I still fully expect to be called a dhimmi by one or two of you after you read this post.
Salon.com recently pulled a neat little trick, one that is currently paying great dividends The liberal mega-site recently ran a piece that essentially accuses Governor Rick Perry of being a pro-Sharia candidate (complete with a ridiculously crude photoshopped image of Perry standing next to a Muslim crescent). Of course, the title of the piece, Rick Perry: The Pro-Sharia Candidate? ends with a question mark. Ha ha! Its not an accusation its just a question! Arent we clever, Salon.com.

For now, my gut tells me that Perry is not a supporter of Sharia or the muslims. My gut also tells me that those that are saying this, want someone else as President so are putting out false rumors.
We need to watch and listen. If I am wrong, I believe it will all come out in the wash.
i understand being diplomatic when you are Governor.
but it crosses the line, when you make repeated pro Islam comments,
and admiringly quote FROM THE QURAN.
Islam specifically denies the divinity of Jesus.
and was created by a sexual pervert.
It is possible to show respect to individual Muslims, without praising the religion, and quoting from that book,
like Perry did repeatedly.
tell me one true evangelical who approves of that ?
(and i don’t mean Rick Warren Chrislam types...)

Evangelical Rick Perrys promotion of filtered islamic history is troubling to most American voters!
again, tell me one true evangelical who approves of that ?
He’s either a Bilderberg Zionist tool, a Christian zealot, a closet Muslim or a Soviet spy. Take your pick.
and remember the brave SEAL’s that died recently?
and the thousands of our troops that have died in the past decade?
...what was the religion, of 99.9%, of those who killed them?
ISLAM. thousands of our troops, are killed,
literally in the name of Islam.
i don’t respect anyone, who praises Islam, and quotes approvingly from the Quran.
I want an American President who understands the evils of Islam, like Colonel Allen West does !
Islamic Zionist CFR Bilderberger Illuminati Zealot.
AND a spy.
I wonder how he will explain his relationship with Prince Shah Karim Al-Husayni http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=333701
Or how about his appearance at a La Raza convention? http://affiliate.kickapps.com/_Gov-Rick-Perry-at-La-Raza-Convention/blog/2408628/46976.html
It’s awfully nice that he’s stepping up to fight Obama, especially since true conservatives like Palin, Bachmann and Herman Cain have been carrying this water for over 2 years now.
I've also met atheists that quote from the Bible. Doesn't mean they believe it.
I think he was a Soviet spy developed in Moscow, stole the indenty of some one named Rick Perry as a young adult with the White House in mind. I am sure WND would buy that.
Considering he’s running, who would you recommend?
You could add “space alien”....as long as we are fabricating smears.
If it was a trick by the left-wing Salon, it appears to hav e fooled a lot of conservatives here at FR.
[Texas] has a strong, conservative governor.
That's why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative.
...
Rick Perry is a leader.
...
Let me say one more thing about my friend and your governor: he knows all human life is precious.
...
Will you join me in supporting a true conservative for governor Rick Perry
...
Rick Perry is proven and principled.
Yeah, but she also said that about McCain.
She didn’t exactly say that. But anyway, the Palin Supporters have told us we are supposed to ignore that one endorsement. And I can’t think of any other endorsement she gave that was too a RINO liar sleezeball.
But, I'm under no illusions Palin is perfect. No politician is. But using endorsements to promote or trash a candidate? Kinda lame since every single conservative has endorsed a RINO at one point or another.
I actually agree with you on your last point. There are many reasons for endorsements, and I hate when people hold them against politicians. Assuming Palin was looking to run for President for example, she would have seen it as helpful to have endorsed the winning Texas Governor.
And of course, Perry really liked Palin as well, while Palin wouldn’t have gotten the time of day from Hutchinson.
I dislike that Perry endorsed Giuliani, especially as early as he did; on the other hand, Giuliani was a crash-and-burn, so no harm no foul, and now Perry has a friend in a guy that in some respects is a good person to have on your side, who will help Perry raise funds, and who knows — maybe Giuliani will end up running the department of Homeland Security or something. (I had to think hard about a position where Giuliani’s social liberalism wouldn’t be too disturbing).
Anyway, I sat back and realised I’m getting way to hyper about the election for it being so early. I don’t really think the arguments among freepers are going to have a significant impact on the election. Anyway, I think Perry has to have some supporters here, and probably has campaign people reading, so I think I’ll let them handle things for a while, and sit back and just watch.
At least, I’ll try. It won’t be easy for me, I love a good argument.
Bump!
