WASHINGTON — Businessman Herman Cain says his victory in the Florida Republican straw poll was authentic and wasn't a statement by voters against Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Cain tells NBC's "Today" show the weekend test balloting was "not a protest vote."

Cain says his performance shows "the voice of the people is more powerful than the voice of the media."

It seems the Propaganda Ministry has decided that Mr. Cain was a "protest vote" for the straw poll in Florida and indicates that the GOP is needing more choices. Those racist TEA Partiers couldn't have meant to vote for the black guy. </sarcasm>

I'm also posting this to draw attention to the reactions and comments of the lefty moonbats over there on NewsVine.

Feel free to comment over there if you wnat. ;)

In a way, he’s right. This is a protest vote. We’re protesting Obama, Romney, Perry, and other politicians in general. It’s time for someone with common sense to be President.

"the voice of the people is more powerful than the voice of the media." - Herman Cain

I agree that Cain's straw poll win was a strong indication that Republican voters are determined to nominate a conservative this time, not a phony 'Democrat-Lite' RINO that will just keep moving America to the left only at a slower pace than a Democrat.

I don’t think Cain can win either the primary or the general election but I like him very much and if he proves me wrong I will be proud to call him My President.

wasn't a statement by voters against Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Even by the remarkably low intellectual standards of the US Junk Media, that is a stupid argument. IF this was a "protest vote" against Perry it would of gone to Romney or Bachmann or Paul.

Cain came across very well in last week’s “debate”. He is a solid presenter and expresses his views well. He is a nugget watiting to be discovered as people look through the gravel and silt of politics as usual.

Cain won because people are thirsty for an honest no nonsense leader. Notice I didn’t say politician. We are energized and extremely enthusiastic about this man because he is a problem solver. Cains solutions will help all Americans through sound economic decisions. Please think about donating to his campaign.

Cain will get the mojo now (and maybe even more than five total minutes during the next debate!). Bachman got it after winning the Iowa straw poll, but she let it fizzle away. We’ll see how well Herman can capitalize on this over the next several weeks.

Down in FLORIDA, it most certainly was a VOTE FOR CAIN rather than a repudiation of any candidate. There were reports of Florida GOP straw delegates decked out in campaign buttons for other candidates beside Herman, walking up to Cain supporters after the vote, tugging them, and saying, "You know, I ended up voting for your guy because he hung around for three days, pressing the flesh, meeting all of us individually and giving it his all, plus his stirring speech, that I ended up casting a vote for Herman Cain."

That to me says volumes. That to me shows "Big Mo" in the making, and the MSM who want to coronate a GOP nominee that THEY see fit (other than Cain, the anti-establishment rabble rouser and one they are most uncomfortable with because of his race) and a MSM-pick who will probaby go on to lose to Obama in the General ala McCain, can just shove it where the son dont shine.!!! The pitchforks are out. The People have arisen and sounded the alarm. Its spreading.

He sure will not be president with that kind of attitude you have, armchair warrior. Get off your duff and either be with us, or get out of the way.

His chance in the primary is small, but, I think if faced against Obama in the general election, he can beat him.

From the article:

Cain says his performance shows "the voice of the people is more powerful than the voice of the media."

I find it interesting that Cain (with 37%) beat the total of Perry (15%) and Romney (14%).

After watching the Fox News Debate Mitt and Rick show on Fox News last Thursday, I'd say Cain has defeated Fox News.

He3ck no, it’s not a fluke. Cain actually got to answer a few questions and a lot of folks got their first good look at the guy at last week’s debate. The more folk’s see of him the more they like him.

I agree with your characterization of “leader”. That is what made Ronald Reagan so popular. He made visionary statements about national goals, not political statements approved by his party leadership
