The US may be shocked that the terrorist suspects behind the Boston bombings are Chechen natives, but Russia has long cautioned Washington about giving asylum to Islamists from the North Caucasus, political analyst Dmitry Babich told RT.

Two bombs exploded in Boston during the city's Marathon on April 15, killing 3 people and injuring 176 others.

The suspects in the attack were identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and his brother Dzhokhar, 19, Chechen natives, who lived in the US for some time. The elder brother was killed in a stand-off with police on Thursday, while the younger one is still at large.

The Voice of Russia radio station’s political analyst, Dmitry Babich, believes that it’s time for the West to understand that the Islamist activity in the North Caucasus is a threat not only to Russia, but the US and Europe as well...

“the Russian government has warned a lot about the kind of refugees, about the kind of immigrants that the US and Western European countries are ready to accept. I mean I didn’t interview these people in Europe or in the US, but read a lot of reports from Russian reporters and from Western reporters actually interviewing those people. And a lot of them didn’t change their convictions. A lot of them are die-hard Islamists. They didn’t change after leaving Russia and I can easily imagine that a lot of them consider both Russia and the US parts of the same western decadent civilization. In this situation they can wage their jihad not necessarily in a place like Syria or Iraq, but also in the US.”

My personal opinion is that this is an Eric the Corrupt Holder and Butch Napolitano sting gone wrong. Notice that every few months or so Eric and Butch roll out a couple of rubes that were recruited and were planning a bomb and were caught just in the nick of time with the dummy bomb. The Feds knew who did it in hours after the bombs went off. My guess is that Eric and Butch (notice that they are not out there crowing about their great job) are shredding documents, threatening underlings, and trying to get the ring leader (the Saudi?) out of the country.

Isn’t it a shame that no one except slack jawed Progressives believe a word the Feds put out, or the MSM for that matter.

...and the U.S. DHS said, “Thanks, but we don’t believe in terrorists any longer” and went ippity-skippity on its merry way.

This is no small trophy for Russia, she has been hobbled by the Communism of the past and the scarcity of resources and reserve for the same reason.

Despite this, she has put together a credible anti terrorist intelligence and response force.

Russia no longer spouts political policy horse manure about this sort of stuff, like they did in the Soviet days.

Giving refuge to ordinary political dissidents is one thing - giving it to Islamist dissidents is a problem, because Islamists hate all non-Muslims, including the host countries that provide them with refuge.

This message needs to be reduced to a tattoo that can be stamped on the forehead of all all the bad guys....

. "Giving refuge to ordinary political dissidents is one thing - giving it to Islamist dissidents is a problem, because Islamists hate all non-Muslims, including the host countries that provide them with refuge."

Any suggestions for a meaningful logo that can be tattooed easily?

The Russians are still far from a model republic but sometimes I find myself agreeing with Putin more than my own government. He made a comment awhile back when asked about raising taxes and said that it would be unfair for everyone not to pay the same rate of 15%.

Yes corruption is rampant and it is dangerous to criticize the government if you have power but I believe the Russians have the correct stance on radical muzslimes which are an existential threat to western civilization.

I think someday in the next 20 years we will look at Russia like we are starting to look at Canada especially when you consider our relative but disparate paths.
