Commentator Shalom Yerushalmi wrote, Monday in Ma'ariv, that senior politicians feel that if Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arranges another presidential term for Shim'on Peres, Peres won' leave the Presidential Residence, despite his declaration, Sunday, that he is not interested in staying.

...Netanyahu is concerned that Peres would run for Knesset and could defeat him because there no leadership figure of Peres's stature has emerged since him in the center or the left.

He is a doddering old kook. Everything he stood for has been discredited. Yet the center and the left has nobody of his stature, and Bibi is worried. Well, try this, Bibi. Pledge no more demolitions of outposts, and no more land concessions to the Palis, or cancellations of building tenders. The negotiations? Pressure from the US? Take the Oslo accord into the bathroom with you and wipe your ass on it, and then mail half of it to John Kerry, and the other half to Obama. Then you won't have to worry about Shimon Peres being the next prime minister. You make nice speeches at the UN, but really you stand for nothing, so you'll fall for anything. Solution: Stand for something, with your feet, not just your mouth.

Look at what I just found out; SHIMON PERES, DATE OF BIRTH AUGUST 2 1923, AGE 90!!! The man is (90) NINETY FREAKIN YEARS OLD!! I am impressed at his vitality for sure, but leadership plans? From a ninety year old? No. If BiBi is intimidated by Peres, then he carry far less influence than I would ever have imagined (or hoped).

He’s alienated his base East of the green line, as you can see from my own words. LINO, I’d call him.

it is so long past Peres’ retirement time
I can’t even find a way to say it

Peres makes Methuselah, and the Western Wall, look young

Bibi, put in a bill for a mandatory retirement age of 90... “to give younger people like in their 70’s a chance to contribute to the country and its future”

that should take care of the Peres problem!

Peres is a despicable traitor. In most countries he would die in prison. In Israel half the insane nation sees him as a hero.
