When I saw that picture on the Latest Posts page I thought it was photoshopped and this would be an article from the Onion.
The stupidity on display here is astounding.
The Nazca lines look like they are painted on or something. They are not. My understanding is that the plateau is covered with a fine layer of dust because it basically never rains there and for some reason there is no wind I guess. Anyway, the figures were created by indians scraping away the dust in a strategic way. Now walk in with hiking boots and you leave more or less permanent footprints in that same dust.
These are not just Peruvian sites. They are part of our common human heritage.
They should sue Algore.
