We need the Senate. He likely has a better chance of being re-elected than a newbie.

“... puts to rest some speculation he would sit out a second term to prepare for a comeback bid for the White House in 2020...”

Even if he gets re-elected to the Senate, it won’t stop him from running for president in 2020...The Senate is just a place to sit until then...

Isn’t that what they said about Dewhurst? In the meanwhile, Cruz has shown himself to be something of a fraud, a user, a liar, overly ambitious, and not particularlyl likable. Yeah, that’s re-electable.

Not sure about that. Now that people know he failed to disclose financial information the first time around, will they reconsider? Also, what’s he done for Texas? There are more important things to being a Senator than just grandstanding by reading books during a futile filibuster in order to lay the groundwork for your name recognition in preparation for an upcoming Presidential run. Then there’s the matter of how he conducted himself during the campaign.

I really don’t care too much, as I’m not a Texan, but you can be sure that as a Floridian, I wouldn’t vote for Rubio a second time around, knowing what I know now.

Lots for Texans to consider.

Here’s one oldie who won’t be voting for the absent from duty senator. At this point the only thing I think he is capable of, is running toward the first alphabet camera to show his face and moving mouth to the world. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw a brick outhouse. AND to think I
voted for him to the sednate....and then he was the absent senator, from Texas, running for the presidency.

***************

Texas hasn’t elected a democrat to a statewide office since 1994 and they won’t start
in 2018. Cruz was a newbie as far as elected officals go when he won. True he had held
several political jobs in Texas but he’d never been on a ballot.
