There have been a number of black extremist groups in the US esp. since the 1960’s. Some have been of various “communist”/”Marxist” orientation; others have been of the “black separatist” orientation, and a few combined elements of both.

The first House Committee on Un-American Activities hearings on “Subversive Influences in Riots, Looting, and Burning”, hearings Oct./Nov. 1967, 90th Congress, First Session, dealt with the Watts Riot and others including those in Harlem.

It listed the traditional communist/Marxist parties and organizations who supported violence, either openly or covertly. This included the Communist Party USA (Stalinist); Socialist Workers Party (Trotskyite) Progressive Labor Party (Maoist); Workers World Party (Trotskyite, then later Stalinist) and its violent street arm, Youth Against War and Fascism); Spartacist League (Trotskyite; later Stalinist); Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), (Maoist); SNCC; Organization for Black Power, led by CPUSA members and individual black Marxists; and other Marxist or black extremist but non-violent groups.

From the 1964 Harlem riots came the Progressive Labor Party’s series of fronts including the Harlem Defense Council (Bill Epton, PLP maoist leader); Committee to Defend Resistance to Ghetto Life (William McAdoo, PLP leader and Sue Karp, PLO with sponsors ranging from the CPUSA to the Castro Lobby; Mothers’ Defense Committee - a phonebooth operation; the Spartacist League front, the Harlem Solidarity Committee (which overlapped in membership with other communist parties and PLP fronts); the Community Council on Housing, a mixed leadership group with heavy CPUSA involvement via the Metropolitan Council on Housing and CP organizer Jesse Gray); and the all black Mau Mau Society led by veteran extremist Charles (X37) Kenyatta (a small but tough-guy posing group that disappeared in a short while).

The first House Committee on Un-American Activities report on this issue was their report “Guerrilla Warfare Advocates in the United States” 90th Congress, 2nd Session, May 6, 1968, House Report No. 1351, which listed the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM), maoist oriented; the JFK House, Cleveland; Freedom Fighters of Ohio; Deacons for Defense; Medgar Evers Rifle Club (mainly small front groups for the JFK House or small black regional organizations. Not all of them were known to be violent.

The Revolutionary Contingent, NYC, a small but very street vocal communist organization and advocate of guerrilla warfare.

Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). At the time of the report, they were described as having given support to revolutionary groups outside the U.S, esp. Cuba and the Viet Cong.

Stokely Carmichael and H. Rap.Brook, former violence-supporting leaders of SNCC (Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee) whose name they changed to Student Coordinating Committee). Carmichael died a hardcore Marxist and H.R. Brown served a life sentence for murder.

Later the Republic of New Africa (RNA) would arise as a violent, police-killing guerrilla warfare and robbery type of Marxist organization (1981, Nyack, NY Brinks Truck robbery that killed a Brinks guard and two policemen. A combined RNA merged into the Black Liberation Army/old Black Panther Party members) and the white Weathermen Underground Organization).

The RNA is still around today and had leaders elected as the mayor of a largely black Mississippi city, among other political activities.

They are also a part of the larger N’COBRA black reparations movement that incorporates about 15-20 smaller but dangerous national organizations.

The New Black Panther Movement is a self-styled crypto-military style organization made up of psychopaths and “lumpenproletariat” losers. They are dangerous because of the pronounced mental illness (paranoia, delusions of grandeur, megalomania and the dangerous pathological hatred of white people, esp. the police).

Add into this the influence of extremist Islam (ISIS, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab, Boko Harum, etc) and you are now getting jihadist wannabees who think that killing the police is the way to wage their type of “jihad” in America, be it racial or Islamic, or both.

The question is whether the Black Lives Matter organization gets coopted by the far Marxist left and the extremist black elements/groups to the point that, like SNCC, it becomes a violent organization on purpose.

And there are probably a few unknown black extremist groups out there, esp. in NYC, New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Chicago, Philadelphia, maybe Detroit, and California (Oakland, Watts, LA, etc). that we haven’t heard from yet, but will.
