A left-wing protester was just arrested at Berkeley for ‘obstructing an officer for performing his duties’. He was asked to unmask and I.D. himself as he was arrested.
The protester refused to cooperate with police and it likes the Berkeley police aren’t messing around today because he was immediately arrested. Check out the hand gesture the police officer made as soon as he had enough of this protester’s nonsense. Hah!

This is where we win folks. When the left act like anarchists, it is difficult for even their own to ignore it. They will try to explain it away, though.

That Ann Coulter for this arrest. She and the lawyer for the UCB Republican club both called out the Berkley mayor for not doing his job. The mayor told the police to stand down which allowed the mob to hold police at bay, fire bottle rockets directly at police from short range, destroy property and even allowed the mod to hurt several conservatives without any arrests.
And as the mod was able to form again and again without arrests, it did so with greater size and greater ferocity. And encouraged them to break more and more laws.

Probably arrested him because he wasn’t an Antifa member so it was OK’d by the Mayor.

I’m curious what is the crime here?
Obstruction is a crime but can you be charged for obstruction for not cooperating in an investigation of yourself? I would think 4th & 5th Amendment rights should prevail (but doesn’t mean they do in law). It doesn’t cover destruction of evidence but “you have the right to remain silent”.
Is it illegal to wear a mask?
No person is obliged to provide ID to police, afaik, if on foot in public space. You can be arrested for crimes, but refusing to talk to cops is not in and of itself a crime.
What am I missing?
Well, now he has a mug shot, finger prints and DNA sample on file.
Since at least 1999, the left has rioted on and off across the country. Maybe if Trump someday deals with it, there will be progress.
