Listen up kids, no good music was ever made after the 1970’s.
Old?
Enjoying patsy cline right now!
The only ones I could listen to (but not all that often) on PJMedia’s list:
“Hold On” — Wilson Phillips
“Nothing Compares 2 U” — Sinéad O’Connor
“Black or White” — Michael Jackson
I still listen to #1 and #2 every once in awhile, but to be honest I change the station if any of the other 8 songs come on the radio. All eight of them would make it on to my own list of “songs I hope I never hear again”.
Late 60’s and nearly all the 70’s. That’s the last of the good music. I despise U2 and Pearl Jam.
The only one I ever heard of was the one by Michael Jackson. After the ‘70s, music pretty much sucks.
Interesting list but the only one I recognized was REM, I must be getting pretty old.
Well at least they didn’t pick REM’s “Shiny Happy People”.
Dennis Leary said it best....
“Shiny happy people—” Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey! Pull that bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike, all right? I want everybody off the bus. I want the shiny people over here, and the happy people over here, okay? I represent angry gun-toting meat-eating f....... people, all right? Sit down and shut the .... up, Michael!”
An awful list or maybe i’m just out of touch. ;o)~
not one doo-wop group ? puh
I know 4. I uses I’m old.
So, I read the list. "No." "No." "Good Grief, No!" "Nope" "No." And so on. Mostly bad pop music, or bad pop songs by decent bands.
Oh well, it was a nice trip down memory lane.
About what I would expect from one who was a teenage girl then. Unlikely she ever even heard of the great 90’s songs like “Head Like a Hole” by Nine Inch Nails or “Ænema” by Tool.
The only songs on the list I would listen to now are:
“Nothing Compares 2 U”
“Losing My Religion” - especially the live acoustic version
Anything by Michael & Janet Jackson would cause rage & bizarre actions in my behaviour - they were/are truly evil humans....esp Michael.
The only one I really know/enjoy on that list is REM. O’Connor’s is pretty good. Didn’t realize that was from the 90s. Thought from the 80s. Maybe it was on the cusp of the 90s.

Or...
Or La-Bouche, Be my Lover...
Her list is fairly trite and overplayed, representing the last gasp of top 40 radio. There was plenty of great music made in the 90’s but she didn’t name any of it.
Classic? If the 1990s music is classic, what is the 1960s?
Who is this “we” the author refers to?
