Gov. Phil Murphy's administration put New Jersey's state agencies on notice Friday that they should prepare for another state government shutdown if a state budget isn't signed by the June 30 deadline.

The letter to Murphy's cabinet members, obtained by NJ Advance Media, asked them to update contingency plans for their departments.

It was sent shortly after top staffers in the state Senate and Assembly met with Murphy's senior staff Friday morning amid ongoing negotiations about Murphy's first state budget proposal -- which so far have been fraught.

Is Murphy going to blame it on the Republicans the same way that Mark Dayton of Minnesota blamed the shutdown during his first year in office?

NJ wants to be California on the East Coast. Our property taxes are projected to be obscene and swallow any chance that our home will ever be paid off. The resale of the house will be lucky to break even. NJ was not always like this just like California. Liberalism can rot a state within a few decades. The average NJ voter is an idiot.

Yes, some people are leaving NJ.

I’ll live in NJ forever—it has access to NYC, hotels, malls, etc.

However, PA looks good...

If the rich would just give a little bit more then the socialist utopia could flourish.

A few years ago, I talked with a young fellow in Newark who sold out and moved to PA. He saved enough $$$ in the move to make it really worth his while, even with the commute.

But a few years later, PA got a Democrat Governor who raised PA property taxes and he lost most of his $$$ advantage.

However, he did very well, real estate wise, with a larger house, a couple of rural acres and a pool, so, all in all, he is still better off.

My wife’s family is all FRom NJ, and they’ll probably never leave, either. It is home, dontchaknow?

I have left NJ. My family had lived there for over 300 years. The first settlers were Dutch farmers that moved from Brooklyn to Monmouth County in the late 1600s. There are no more, in my line, living in the state.

I only go back to get a “Rutt’s Hut fix,” now an then.

Any Rutt’s fans out there?

It is a damn shame what the LIEberals have done to the NorthEast!

I guess America is on the same track that a recovered alcoholic has to go through before he/she commits to the recovery - go all the way down in the dumps.

I don’t want America to get all the way down before she recovers - that is why I am so enamored of The Donald’s efforts on our behalf.

HST, we really do need to drive a stake through the heart of the LIEberal ideology that is Hell-bent on destroying America!

It would seem to me that strengthening The Donald’s Presidency will be our last chance to set America and the World right. If the LIEberals are able to keep him FRom achieving his goal of Making America Great Again, we are doomed!
