I’m beginning to the think the hardest part of being Pro Life is AFTER some of these kids are born.
Some know I took a kid who was the product of a rape under my wing a few years ago.
Got him into a military boot camp and he lasted all of 6 days after all the blood, sweat and tears I put into getting him there.
Couldn’t hack it.
Now it’s on to getting him enrolled in GED and taking him on job interviews to Macys, JC Penney, etc.
I’m not giving up.
He said he saw fights and stabbings in the camp the week he was there that terrified him and woke him up.
We shall see.
I WONT lay out a dime for him anymore. Just rides to interviews and to enroll in GED.
God would get mad if I gave up now.
Messed up kids are more tgan a handful and true love has to smart sometimes so we learn. That is TRUE love and not feel good. Love is sacrifice...having the child...raising the child....following the Holy Spirit...putting yourself in harms way to bring love or change to folks.b
It's tough, there's no two ways around it. You are handling it with patience and wisdom --- and obstinacy, which is needed. And grace, without which we can do nothing.
Whether homegrown kids or foster kids or adopted, or just kids we've taken on because they needed our guidance --- and let's not forget nieces and nephews, grands and great-grands ---- ---let's pray for each others' kids.
