Trump tweeted several times yesterday that the cure can not be worse than the disease.

He needs to quit talking about that and start acting on it.

Then you have the morons driving down the road alone in their car with a mask on. Really?

I’m a broken record on this regarding our economic response to this virus:

We are like the guy that jumped off a 20 story building and, as he passes us on the 10th floor, shouts, “so far, so good”.

But the ground is coming up and there is no stopping it. It will leave a mark - even though people are enjoying the wind in their hair now.

Well-written. Those points should be topics for reasoned, informed debate. (that is, non-emotional, non-ad-hominem (if there is such a word)).

People need fresh air & sunshine - I see them out and about (kids playing, families taking walks) with their masks on.

AUDIO: 13m02s: 26 Apr: 3AW Australia: Luke Grant: “Effects of the lockdown are worse than the virus”: The real dangers of COVID-19 could still be ahead of us
Is it really better to be safe than sorry? A leading UK pathology professor warns us that the ramifications of a country going into lockdown could cause more damage than Coronavirus.
Professor John Lee is a writer for the UK Spectator, a retired professor of pathology and a former NHS consultant and he joined Luke Grant on Australia Overnight to give some perspective on the further reaching effects of COVID-19.
“The trouble with it is that they (government) have erred on the side of better ‘safe than sorry’… it’s a general principle of medicine, that when you’re giving a treatment to people, first do no harm.”

Professor Lee shines light on the fact that nations have overestimated the dangers of, and underestimated the danger of a population going into lockdown.
“The lockdown has side effects. From the economic side effects, from direct health side effects… people aren’t accessing health care, to health problems that were storing up for the future like people not coming in for their cancer screenings, not presenting themselves early enough when they have got chest pains for heart attacks.”

Professor Lee also touches on the murky origins of Coronavirus and if we may ever have a cure for the deadly disease.

There are people wearing masks, walking their dogs on back roads in the middle of nowhere.

I don’t even know how to wrap my head around that.

God help us.

it took such a tiny span of time to completely cow the populace and bring down the country.

I feel like I’m trapped in some megalomaniac’s fever dream.

with hair salons, barbershop and tattoo parlours allowed to reopen

All really close face-to-face interactions, fools all. I can think of no worse type of businesses to open at this time.

Nebraska here: Most of this was voluntary. Yes eating/bars were closed, schools, salons, etc.. but much of state was open. Gov. Ricketts pretty much said be careful and be safe. For the most part people just carried on.

‘There are people wearing masks, walking their dogs on back roads in the middle of nowhere.’

on one of the few days we’ve had this month where the weather hasn’t been prohibitive, I went out bicycling and saw an old dude wheeling along on a one speed, completely alone and in a neighborhood with big front lawns far from the street, and he’s trying to breathe through a freaking bandanna...I am waiting for some fat old biddy that gets her jollies watching MSNBC to call the cops on me for no mask when I’m outside, as I refuse to wear one; I will demand to know who ratted on me, I have that right to know...

I think I overheard the guy also saying "we already have herd immunity".... ;-)
