Georgia, Oklahoma, Alaska and South Carolina have already allowed some businesses to reopen. They and other states have issued plans that call for more rules to be relaxed in the coming week.
Colorado's Democratic Governor Jared Polis has said kerb-side retail pickup can begin on Monday, with hair salons, barbershop and tattoo parlours allowed to reopen on Friday.
Tennessee will allow restaurants to reopen on Monday, the same day that Mississippi's mandatory lockdown order expires.
Montana's governor has allowed churches to reopen starting on Sunday, with social distancing measures still required. Restaurants and schools will be allowed to reopen on 7 May.
Eight states led by Republican governors - Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming - never issued mandatory orders to stay at home.
If it seems too bad to be true, then it probably isn’t.
I think things will get back to normal sooner than we expect.
If the threat continues to diminish, and the weather gets good, and the media are as sick and tired of talking about this as people are of hearing about it, this will fade into the background quickly and will become a bad dream.
I just hope this happens quickly enough for people to recover their dreams....and may those mourning losses be busied with life and receive comfort.
Tattoo parlors. Oh yeah. That’s really important.
Why cant most US restaurants move half their tables outside? There are places that are hot like Phoenix where even shopping centers have misters to cool thing, in really humid places couldnt they set up fans or something?
Nebraska here: Most of this was voluntary. Yes eating/bars were closed, schools, salons, etc.. but much of state was open. Gov. Ricketts pretty much said be careful and be safe. For the most part people just carried on.
Hey, Gov. Evers, crawl out of your hole and get Wisconsin back in business.
It’s going to be a boring summer, though...most festivals and fairs throughout the southeast are being cancelled...even fireworks on the fourth.
And now we will hear from the drama queens:
WE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!! AAARRRRGGGG!!!!!
Allowed? To exercise our civil rights?
Go to church? Not even during the bubonic plague were churches closed.
Open tattoo parlors? How is that essential?
Our rulers are beyond insane. 1984, better late than never, eh?
Watch how quickly the media shifts the narrative from: “We’re all gonna die!” to “Trump is responsible for all that you went through.”
It is, after all, election campaign time!
