Protesters are gathered outside the Metro Nashville Police Department Central Precinct in downtown Nashville.
The group gathered after a rally in against police brutality and white supremacy has been planned for Saturday at Legislative Plaza earlier in the day.
The protesters then moved to the downtown courthouse and office of Mayor John Cooper. Those who were part of the peaceful rally earlier in the afternoon were not part of the same group which became agitated and caused some damage, vandalism.
As the evening progressed, some of the protesters remaining set the Nashville courthouse on fire. Metro Police issued several warning after the blaze , urging them to leave before gas was administered.
Nashville Mayor John Cooper monitored the situation as things escalated, urging remaining protesters to go home.
“This afternoon’s rally for George Floyd and racial justice was peaceful. I attended and listened. We cannot let today’s message of reform descend into further violence. If you mean our city harm, go home.”
A 10pm curfew was set for the city following the blaze and continued unrest.

Seems to me if you are “peaceful” you wouldn’t want your message coopted by these hoodlums and you wouldn’t want any association with them

That may explain why nothing is ever done to antifa. They are a deep state asset.
I noticed that, too - the only reference that seems to make sense is the “Group of Twelve”. Shorthand for First-World nations, international banking, etc. Pretty much what you’d expect Communists to hate.
They do keep electing lefties but Cooper didn’t seem inclined to put up with much tonight. The cops emptied the streets downtown quickly when curfew began and little damage was done compared to so many other cities.
I still would have preferred to see some heads knocked.
