Left-wing rocker Neil Young filed a lawsuit Tuesday against President Donald Trumps re-election campaign, alleging it violated copyright laws by lacking the right to play his songs at his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Youngs suit said Trump campaign did not have a license to play Devils Sidewalk and Rockin in the Free World at the June 20th rally and has used his songs since the presidents first campaign in 2016.
This complaint is not intended to disrespect the rights and opinions of American citizens, who are free to support the candidate of their choosing, reads the complaint filed in New York City court, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, Plaintiff in good conscience cannot allow his music to be used as a theme song for a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate.

Well I hope Neil Young will remember
America don’t need him around, anyhow
Copyright infringement? Is the campaign claiming they wrote the song?
So if Obozo, Hillary or Slow Joe violate fair use law — if that’s what indeed happened here - with Young’s songs, that would be OK.
He is suing because of his illogical opinions. If it was based on the fact that he hates Trump, I would respect that.
What took ‘Great White North Man’ so long? Hasn’t it been used for years?
If he cashed the check, there ain’t no infringement.
I used to be a fan of his songwriting. That was eons ago before he died to me.
If they paid the ASCAP fees then they can play any song they choose.
Place him and David Crosby in a sealed room and give each a gun. Laughter ensues.
I cannot wait until Niles is lying in a burned out basement courtesy BLM.
Well played.
So much for peace preaching hippies.
Shut up, Canuck.
Sounds like his record sales are getting close to zero.
Neil Youngs music is generally crap anyway... why use it? Why not find an unknown patriotic musician to put together a dynamic piece for the campaign to use??
If Trump owns one of his albums, then he has the right to play it.
I’m a musician, singer/songwriter These liberal puke musicians make me so mad. If someone pays for the proper license, then there is nothing any of them can do about who uses their song. They don’t have the power to pick and choose. I would be proud if the Trump campaign picked any of my songs to play at rallies.
