The new administration of the City of San Juan reports that it has found hundreds of food packages and other supplies which had been donated to address the emergencies as a result of Hurricane María and the earthquakes in the southwestern region of the island.
The images were revealed in the TV program "Jay and his X-Rays" (Telemundo), which show from blue tarps to water bottle pallets, first aid kits, rice, beans, batteries and other essential items. All expired and some spoiled.
'El Nuevo Día' attempted to contact former Mayor of San Juan Carmen Yulín Cruz for a reaction but has not received a reply as of publication.

This is the same now-ex-Mayor who the mainland press used as a prop to excoriate President Trump for his response to the 2017 hurricanes, and who also raised a stink last year when a similar cache was found in the City of Ponce after the earthquakes.
Video at source. Again, a Spanish language publication but you can see for yourself.

The soon-to-be State of Puerto Rico will be a great learning environment for other blue states.
I’m sure blue state governors and mayors will flock there to learn their methods of embezzling and payola.

"Is the island still pretty much locked down?" No. Covid tests are required for inbound travelers, there's a curfew from midnight to 5:00 AM, and retail and restaurants can only operate at a limited capacity, but otherwise everything is pretty much getting to normal.

Traveling to Puerto Rico is just the same as any domestic, interstate travel. No restrictions. Buttieg whatshisname Sec-DoT wants Covid testing for domestic flights also, which would include PR, but that hasn’t been established yet.

No doubt something was lost in translation.
US AID said "There's a supply cache here". PR authorities went there expecting 'Cash for supplies'.
But all they got were these lousy canned goods.
