NIH owns the the patent to the “stabilized spike protein” and has adopted a non-exclusive licensing approach.

This is not the same as Moderna’s vaccine platform patent and Bill Gates is not a major shareholder in Moderna.

And this is exactly what the government should be doing with government owned patents.
